So, any idea why SES continues to move the beam ?

We've had two big jumps, one end of october and now again. Both times the average maximum increased by about 2db here. That is a shift of in total about 40km to the east. Combined with the smaller increase beginning of september we are talking of a shift of about 50km since the summer. That is a lot.
On top, the difference between good and bad days until september was huge, sometimes more than 4 db. Now it all seems to be much more stable/controlled.

How is reception around Valencia anyone as this was in a hotspot? I wonder if they are trying to move the hotspots over sea to prevent overspill in areas such as this?

Ha, great conspiracy theory - but that would give the Balearic Islands a better signal. . Can;t say I've noticed any difference.

May not be an alignment change. Could be LNB distance has changed... or minor damage to the reflector surface, by a grain of dust or similar. Anything that causes the slightest defocusing of the beam is sure to improve things on the fringe.

Not noticed anything different at all recently but then my dish is a bit of an overkill at the moment so perhaps I would not notice anything anyway. All 2F channels seem to be fine.

Thought it was worth checking as could be something they've done in this respect. Maybe, as Huevos says, it's down to something external in terms of dust or tiny particles. It seems to have worsened reception in Tenerife and the Canaries by the sounds of things.

Maybe somone in Iceland said -

Gerðu svo vel, opnast skyndilega allur eldfjöllin!

(Please - quickly turn on the volcanoes)

... or have you forgotten what happend last time they did?

The UK spot beam for 2F is definitely turning back and forth. I have measured the SNR since March last year. I can't compare the result exactly from that time since we had a couple of storms during the autumn so I had to re-adjust my dish several times. But to see daily variations it’s easy. The tendency over this time (since March last year) is definitely that the beam shifted slightly more to the east, at least at my latitude (higher daily variations). This can probably only be noticed by those who live close the nulls....

Could 2F have been moved position slightly ...so the UK beam has also moved a bit ?... ....with the arrival of 2E soon...maybe a Parking space is needed...?........tell me to shut up ...if you like ......with my silly ideas .... :-)

Every suggestion throws new ideas in to the pot and all good. I can't see a shift of such a tiny amount making a difference on ground level to the extent people are reporting?

no parking space. There is enough space.
I've been monitoring this thing now for more than a year. There is NO correlation between the satellites position inside the box and the SNR variances.

No, still OK here - no noticeable change.

Edit: no noticeable change from 2f. Some 1n signals are better than previous recordings (quality/strength) taken at this time of year.
