Why don't you install the dish as this guy have done, then you can have a 2.4 meter dish outside your balcony.

My wife would really say YADA

Here you can see the mount of my dish with the Jaeger SMR-99G.

The back view picture is when the dish is pointed to Hispasat.

Yes it's inside the balcony on a floorstand.

The balcony wall is no problem as the dish angle pass the wall.

I have not installed the polarizer yet as i am waiting for delivery from Germany.

Here you can see two more pictures, the first the dish is pointed at 53 degrees East and the second picture shows the ground mount on the balcony.

The 36v motor cable clamped between the door and floor is only temporary, i will install next week when the new polarizer arrives a full shielded 7-core cable nicely.

Very nice equipment...well done. I was under the impression you were running a seavey polariser with that SMW.

A question about your SMW lnb....how do these compare to the likes of a Norsat Pll's, I have searched far and wide for Lab test but cannot find them. I have always heard that SMW and Norsat were the among the best, is this actually true?

Also are pll's really necessary or is just smoke and mirrors, I read conflicting information on these forums and other....Old Satellite says they are great, Others say unnecessary.

Seavey was too much losses in the waveguide, i am changing that for a Chaparral that i know works good.

Next week i have the SMW + Chaparral, will post picture then.

I have no experience with Norsat, but they don't handle the whole frequency range of 10.7-12.75GHz.

My SMW is not PLL, it's DRO.

PLL LNBs are really only usefull for data broadcasts where you need pin-point accuracy of the signal.

PLL LNBs are hyped for satellite-TV, not for DATA!

SMW are the best, they are handmade to custom order.

My SMW LNB is custom ordered with LO +-1MHz which is really great for a DRO LNB, PLL LNBs can go down to +-250kHz i beleive.....

Did you order your LNB from SMW's website?

I see you your getting birds clearly out of footprint in Sweden. with the Fibo, according to my understanding is you would need 150~180cm for some of those satellites.

Does anybody you happen to have Agila2 KU enhanced footprint handy from the Tele-Sat CD I want to see if there is anyway possible to pick this bird.

My problem remains the same, to get this satellite. Agila2 is one of my Sourthern most satellites @ 146E, Yokohama is @ Lat 139E, but Its drown out by Superbird C @ 144E.

If the SMW would work I would be more than happy to buy it.

I

I used to work as a broadcast engineer at Teleports travelling around the world, mainly the U.S and Latin America with my own company 15 years ago so i was dealing pretty much with SMW and other professional equipment.

I have a 90cm fibo gregorian complete but with a burnt out optical sensor, recent cogs, good motor etc, includes lnb, best of all it is free to a good home providing you collect it. It is near Hastings in East Sussex. Please note that you can`t use it with a v-box as it needs a 5v supply for the sensor unless you can figure out a way of using a relay so that a seperate 5v supply is used only when the dish is turning, { that is how I managed to blow the sensor]. I`m sure that with a little inginuity that the sensor can be repaired, So if it is of any use, First come first served as they say. Regards Saabtech.

I do not know what it would cost to fix, but it is a small circuit board with some resistors,so I assume that it could be fixed but i am not up on electronics so asking me is a bit like asking a pig for the time! I simply do not have the time to get involved with shipping and I do not have any suitable packing so it does need to be collected, So, sorry, Saabtech.
