I would guess that, as they're encrypted, they'll go on the PE beam.
And stay encrypted for the duration like all the ROI channels.

I'm sure Freesat would like them for NI.
Freesat NI already have those channels, but for the correct region. C4 NI (SID 9215) and E4 UK (SID 8305), etc. Why would Freesat want to show ROI advertising in NI?

Ah OK, fair enough, didn't realise NI already had their own FTA region on sat.

Still no reports of frequencies moving from the 2A/2B to the 2F?

IIRC we'll have to wait for 2E to be launched and put into position. So, this summer then?

The 2F would (partly) replace the 2A/B frequencies. But then again it was first rumoured to replace the 1N in its entirety and that didn't happen either.

That's all taking a very long time...One would have thought the changeover would have happened by
now.Apart from the French KA band and the African beam there are only the few old 1N transponders
that have moved.

One assumes there isn't a "Problem" somewhere...

Is "mar manor golf resort" Marbella? If so it might need something like 2-3m.

Hi Martin123

Astra 2F is receivable using a 1.2m dish in the Torrevieja area, but as you are about 20 miles further south, a 1.45m dish should give you a 'margin of safety' for any future transfer of channels from 1N.

Actually I would recommend a 190 dish to be on the safe side, with a black inverto LNB.

I would recomend neither - at least for now. We still don't know what will happen in the summer when 2E starts up. It seems people expect it to be the same or similar to 2F footprint wise but as we have already learned from 2f, the published footprints do not always give much assurance as to what happens on the gound - just ask anyone in or around Barcelona !!!

Better wait if you can until you know what is needed after 2E fires up. If you dont, then maybe you will spend too much on a dish which is not necessary - or on theother hand you may find your new 1.9 dish is still not large enough. These null zones are impossible to predict and who knows where the 2E nulls will lie.

Well not everything is moving to 2F. I put up a 120 x 110cm in Los Alcazeres (San Javier) the other day and that got 1N and 2F fine. Don't worry about what might happen in the autumn because a dish that size is so cheap anyway (about 40€) and I sure that is not going to stop you watching tv for the next 9 months.

Nothing is safe as the transition on to 2F has shown. 1.9m may be too small after the summer and in that case you'll have done a truck load of money for nothing. My advice is the cheapest dish that will do the job for the time being, until the changes become a known quantity. If you buy a complete system and later the dish size is not enough you are only out for the price of a small dish, all the other parts, LNB, receiver, etc, will be compatible with any dish upgrade needed. BTW, the Black Ultra is not compatible with the 1.9m dish.
