Various reports of trees down in the area but the dishes are still pointing in (approximately) the right directions! :D

Arrived home to find the dish unaffected by the storm. :-righton

I noticed when passing the BBC that they had their 'monster' dishes pointing almost straight up. I assume this was deliberate to minimise the dish exposure to the wind.

Isn't it a pirated clip from the new Quentin Tarantino movie, "Invasion Of The Killer Trampolines"?

Oh dear - signal problems are appearing.

9/10E seems to have disappeared completely, the offset 7E lnb still has the strongest stp's

13E the BER has shot up although the stronger tp's arent too bad.

16E is ok atm as is 19E.

..Hmm more than a little scary that such a construction wasn't built to withstand a 50mph gust ...
Makes you wonder if they have the numbers wrong ...or if the design was underestimated.

Just think on the positive side, free firewood!!! :D

Chop it up into logs, leave it in the wood store to season for a year or two, and there you have wood for those cold winter nights...:D

does that improve your sat reception on the west side ?

you took a saw to them in the night and blame it on the wind :)

Sadly not. Its a shelter belt around the cottages in the way of the west sats, these big beeches are a beautiful line of mature trees running down one side of the road half a mile down the lane.

Just spoken to a neighbour to let him know we're back after our hol and he said it was really terrible here on Thursday - so I am glad I learnt the lessons of last year and weighed my TD110 base down with bags of B&Q Sand.

Worked a treat!
