Hmm, about what sports channel from Russian television are we talking about? Sport Planeta isn't around anymore. It left Hotbird and Sirius around February/March '09...

TV1 Russia had a sketch which looked like it was making fun of Russia Today. (pic attached, note Christmas tree mania...)

What did the Russian people do to deserve Russia Today?

After spending most of last century surviving on those small tins of baked beans and rubber sausages and bits of old bread, they could do without those dipsticks.

Vesti / Rossija 24 should take over!

They were broadcasting a good roundup of all the festivities so far.

I channel hopped round the Baltics on 5E for a change - made an interesting change. Presidential speeches of course, then fab fireworks from Kiev in the Ukraine.

TVR Romania had fireworks, but not as spectacular as the rest.

The casing from a firework was seen whizzing past the camera.

The sound of the fireworks was the best so far, loud and cackling, as they should be.
