Ha ha I love it - Reuters WNS has been in the clear at 22 West since the summer... and I've only just noticed! That shows how often I have a scan over that particular satellite, doesn't it!

Is there ever anything on NSS-7 worth watching, apart from wrestling, the Reuters WNS feed, and a few locked-off shots off an American beach somewhere? :D

Odd sports feeds from TV2G0 from North America, even the odd 32APSK feed.

I think its Kiribati on UTC +14

No chance whatsoever of any tv from there, and the radio streams didnt work either.

So do we have any members in NZ and Oz joining in ...as presumably they will be first to report in ?

Satellite: 88cms DiSEqC motorised dish (self-installed) covering 62E - 37.5W; Technomate TM6900HD Super Combo & TM5400 via IF loopthrough. Also fixed 70cms Raven dish (monoblock 13E / 19E) as backup.

The signal from Reuters WNS here (South coast UK) is absolutely huge on my 88cms dish. I reckon this might be a better bet than trying to go after APTN Charlie... assuming you have access to 22W of course!

The fireworks at Sydney look very good indeed :-)

Given the SR of 7500 or whatever it is, would I be correct in assuming that WNS is not in standard MPEG2 / DVB-S?

Wow - Sydney almost 13 minutes of fabulous fireworks - we will have to go some to beat that display!

Hi Analoguesat, happy NYE to you! If Reuters WNS remains FTA permanently, then maybe you could find an old abandoned dish in a forest somewhere and stick it on a temporary tyre-mount for access to 22W next year?

Even at your northerly location, I would have thought that a well-aligned 60cms dish with a good LNB and short cable run would be OK.

Back in the 1990s when the world was analogue, the 21.5W slot (as was, with Intelsat K in residence) was very active indeed. There were fewer sats available for transatlantic circuits in those days, I suppose. It's a bit of a shame that there's so little 'stuff' worth watching on NSS-7 these days though.

Thanks for the info Remlap (and happy new year!)

Back when I were a lad, I associated SRs of 5632 and 6111 (amongst others) with standard MPEG2/DVB-S. I thought a SR7500 tended to be used with MPEG4 or DVB-S2 or other weirdo new things that I don't understand ;-)

The quality of the pictures on WNS are good, aren't they! I'm glad it's available because, in the absence of APTN Charlie, I would be relying totally on broadcast TV stations!

Happy New Year to you too mate.

Yeah most feeds today are DVB-S2 now with them sorts of Symbol Rates. Reuters seems to be variable bit-rate, when its static card the bit-rate plummets to the ground.

Not much on Rossya 24 either - Ive been keepingan eye on it. Various brief clips from the far east but difficult to tell when they reached midnight, and the world time sites differ as to when the cities in the far east of Russia reach local midnight!
