Mark Webber dominated the Spanish race, taking victory with a lead of nearly 25 seconds over 2nd place homeboy Fernando Alonso. Alonso, while racing well as usual, was a little fortunate to finish in 2nd, as Lewis Hamilton suffered an desperately unlucky puncture with two laps to go whist behind Webber. Sebastian Vettel, despite a poor start to the race, battled through to 3rd, just ahead of Mercedes' Michael Schumacher in 4th.

The top three are holding tight to their podium places, with novice sonnetpete continuing to set this season's pace with Equipe Etranger. A score of 91 in Spain is a clear indication that Equipe are early favourites. kreacher's Creatures trial Equipe by 14pts

Norm, reigning F1SL champion, has got his season back on course with F1 Aberdeen as the Scot took a top score of 92pts in Catalunya to go up to 9th as the F1 circus arrives in Europe. Norm's reserve outfit also continues to embarrass the strugglers, F2 now sit in 20th.

My team, Auto-Dynamo, also had a good weekend, scoring 87pts, while Topper will be delighted with 86pts as that keeps the Tossers right up their, knocking Tivu's Ant Hill Mob off 4th and 2pts behind Dreambox. 2008 champion Oily is also enjoying F1's return to Europe, taking 85pts to jump two places to 8th

Norm's F1 SupaAberdeen in the Champions League: Current status - 69th ~ 326pts ~ DROPOUT ZONE
Salty25's Supa-Dynamo in the PFF1 Cup: Current status - 113th ~ 322pts ~ DROPOUT ZONE
Dazdazdazzy's SupaBTTR in the PFF1 Cup: Current status - 68th ~ 351pts ~ DROPOUT ZONE

Monaco 1980 with Derek Daly giving his sponsors rather more exposure than they would have wanted in the first corner.....

It seems strange looking back at the level of safety standards they employed in those days. Have a look at any of the pitstops shown, there's an army of gormless onlookers and hangers on, standing uselessly around the car just waiting for it to catch fire or for another car to come a little too close !

Yes I saw some historical footage from Fangios' days and the guy was refuelling from a can into a funnel and was smoking a fag at the same time

Will Hispania fold before the end of the season? This would seem to indicate they are in financial trouble

-http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/motorsport/formulaone/7721358/F1-Monaco-Grand-Prix-Bernie-Ecclestone-maps-route-to-Russia.html

I waited in line with the representative from new Spanish entrant, Hispania Racing Team, already struggling to pay their paddock bills.

"Everybody wants to see me. They think I can help. That's why they call me the godfather," Ecclestone said.

"HRT have got problems. I will sort it out. I'd like to see 12 teams finish the season because they have made the commitment to come in. We might lose one of them. But I'm doing my bit to make sure it doesn't happen."

I though Bernie was going to dip his small hand into his very big back pocket.

I suspect his back pocket is equivalent to a years earnings for most of us working class folk

The cheating German git has been given a 20 second penalty for passing Alonso on the last corner at Monaco in defiance of the safety rules. This demotes him to 12th (and last runner) in the race.

You surely can't mean St.Michael?? :mad::mad:

BTW, speaking of celebrated underwear makers and drivers who might need fresh supplies, it's spooky how you previously highlighted the 'Candy Crash' of 1980 and then two drivers did their best to emulate it in todays race!!
