Yes, Gibertini is great, but for feeds is better to buy Triax 110 or 120. Trust me, with bad weather conditions and generally is better to buy bigger dish, or someone can say Gibertini 110 is better than Triax 110 or 120 for feeds and weak signals?:unsure

Shopping list so far:

Dish: Gibertini OP100L
LNB: Inverto Black Ultra 0.2dB
Motor: Undecided!
RX: Will just grab something cheap for now until these new models come out

The issue with most of the more recent receivers is that they have no option to allow selection of a frequency scan range, they only scan the full band. If you are looking at a cheap older receiver to get you by for now, have a look on eBay for a Technomate TM-5402 (M1) not the M2 or M3. The TM-5402 (M1) does not have an "M" on the front panel like the (M2) and (M3) models do. The M1 model has a good tuner and allows scanning of selected ranges. Alternativley, if you can find a Dr HD F15 receiver they also have a sensitive tuner and allow scanning of selected frequency ranges.

The TBS 5925 USB unit was replaced by the TBS 5927 that contained an internal fan in the enclosure. The TBS 5925 runs quite hot but it is easy enough to attach a small USB powered fan to it to provide some cooling. Unless you want to scan for signal with very low symbol rates and 16PSK/32PSK modulated signals the "non Pro" range of TBS internal PC cards will be OK. They will still decode 4:2:2 signals and are a cheaper option than the "Pro" range of TBS cards.

I have 2 TBS 5925 (also 2 Prof Rev 7500), but please if you want that usb card use that rarely, one time something inside snapped :-doh, after too tooo much feedhunting per days and months....., replaced some capacitor and added stronger part inside in service (I forgot which....else 2x stronger part than was before when I bought 5925....), but still after some hours overheating a lot...., I put 5925 after that on little usb cooler the same size from ebay, but what is wrong.....:-dohafter some period card is on temp lower than needed working temp for normal work and stopped to work and need to disconnect usb coller and card and restart notebook .....:-lmao:-rofl2:-dohAlternative is TBS 5927, but is too loud because integrated cooler from manufacturer inside and without option to adjust speed......:-rofl2

I can't install a dish bigger than 1m without getting planning permission, so probably going for that Gibertini, also it has to by aluminium a steel dish won't list 5 minutes in this area.

I'm not going for a TM-5402, I've always hated that receiver and it's the ugliest looking thing known to man.
Shame my new PC won't take PCIe cards, I may build another box just to put a card in though if I go down the PC route. Not a fan of USB devices though TBS may be okay, just found in the past any DVB/C/S devices that were USB a bit flaky.

The best motor for this set up is the Stab HH100

That's a shame regarding aftersales, though as long as the dish turns up and is not bent or damaged all should be okay?
Yes he argues like hell and makes out he knows better than others, so make sure you unpack and check before signing and buy using PayPal.

Dish installation, I have ordered a wall bracket, which wall should I mount it to, the blue line or the red line?
I want to be able to sweep as much as the arc as I can, the green line is true south according to the dishpointer website.
Originally I was going to bolt the bracket to the wall with the red line, but cant quite picture how it can rotate back on its self east.

I have ordered a wall bracket

What sort, an L bracket? I'd have suggested a T&K arrangement, especially if you are using a larger dish. As to the siting of the dish, the nearer to the corner of the building the better. It really depends on the length of the bracket...

Heavy duty L bracket, Heavy Duty L Mount the 55CM One.
Either wall will be near the corner.

Am I right in thinking that motorised dishes usually have just a single LNB? If that is the case then the TBS 5927 will not be suitable unless you want to watch all your TV on the PC monitor. It has no loop through, probably because of the fan taking up the space.

You can have any LNB, but I went for a single as I have no need for multiple outputs.
Interesting it doesn't have a loopthrough, but I could get a basic box that has a loopthrough and then feed it to the PC if I go down that route.

These are better in various stand offs, spread the load more.

Thanks for the link, but I have no issue with the bracket I will be using.
Was just wondering what wall to put it on :)

That is my setup with the TBS 5925 looped through from the Dr HD receiver. I actually use a DR HD Grand Triple these days. I find it much easier to use a non Linux box to tune in feeds and for general TV watching. If anything needs to go to the PC, like 4:2:2 feeds, the loop through does the job.

It is easy to loop a Linux Box with Egnima 2 into the chain as well. I did this for a while with an AzBox running Enigma 2. I intend to get a proper Enigma 2 box to put into the chain.

Edit. I thought I had quoted Post #36

Appreciate that, perhaps I should have made it clearer. Whichever wall you mount it on, the nearer the corner the less chance you have of the dish making contact with the wall. However, if you have a 55cm offset, plus the motor offset and the dish mounting bracket, I don't see it affecting your arc too much, unless you will be looking for feeds at the extreme ends. As there is less to 'see' on the western arc, you might be better advised to mount the assembly on the east facing wall.
