Thanks for the link, but I have no issue with the bracket I will be using.
Was just wondering what wall to put it on :)

Not much to the West passed 30 west so concentrate on the Easterly satellites,
The most active part of the Ku band is from 53 east to 37.5 west.

That depends which satellites you expect to get and any obstructions. Try Dishpointer that will help you to decide.

Appreciate that, perhaps I should have made it clearer. Whichever wall you mount it on, the nearer the corner the less chance you have of the dish making contact with the wall. However, if you have a 55cm offset, plus the motor offset and the dish mounting bracket, I don't see it affecting your arc too much, unless you will be looking for feeds at the extreme ends. As there is less to 'see' on the western arc, you might be better advised to mount the assembly on the east facing wall.
Right got you, that makes sense!
Was trying to figure out which end would be the most important and that answers that, thank you :)

Even on my rear wall I can get 30W with ease looking at this!

Looks god but how is it with the tress on other sats.
Trees are quite some distance away and the angle of the beam comes down so they wont affect it, also the buildings on the left of the picture are bungalows so they won't affect anything either :)

Are the USB ones any good? I did see them on the TBS Site.
Identical to the PCi versions hardware wise
I'm not going for a TM-5402, I've always hated that receiver and it's the ugliest looking thing known to man.
Shame my new PC won't take PCIe cards, I may build another box just to put a card in though if I go down the PC route. Not a fan of USB devices though TBS may be okay, just found in the past any DVB/C/S devices that were USB a bit flaky.
I think you'll find the TBS' USB boxes are far better than others, and work the same as their PCI cards :)

I have a tiny PC in my AV Rack, the CPU is a Intel i5 6500 (Skylake) I wonder if that would be powerful enough...

Just saw the TBS 5520SE on Amazon, it's only £90 which is less than a receiver, wonder if its any good.

Yeah should be fine for most feeds, but may struggle with high bit rate 4:2:2 feeds. That is more powerful than my old Amd FX 6300, and that served me well for years.

Oh a GTX1070 just for the DVB!!!! I didn't realise they needed something that powerful, I just got rid of my GTX1080 because I wasn't using it.
No, you don't, a half decent GPU will suffice, remembering 4:2:2 feeds will use the CPU, as there is no hardware acceleration for 4:2:2 feeds.

Which setup do you use to drive the motor, I see from your setup you have a few devices?

I use my solo2 to drive the dish using diseq. But on my dish I have an Actuator because of the size of the dish, so I have a v-box inbetween.

I'm going to get a USB/PCIe TBS solution later on, for the moment I need a STB
I looked at the Octagon SX88 but it does not have LNB passthrough, whats the next best thing or the next step that has passthrough?
I don't want Technomate :)

Technomate, Xtrend, Clarke Tech are/was respected company for dxers, like Clarke Tech, but something is bad, many faults, I had Clarke Tech and you will not believe: blocked on one feed, after many years feedhunting (reboot without help, for years I dont know what to do with him....any ideas from someone? )

Rusty, also my criterion is loopthrough, but today is so hard to find hardware blindscan receiver without android os and possibility to stream feed or channel on own pc to watch it and take snapshots.

For what you need receiver? What are you wishes, criterion? Only watch tv/feeds or primary review what you found? What OS must be?
