The LNB for 5°W is not even in cetral position on this ridiculous small dish

At least a 95 cm antenna must be installed ( Triax TD88 ).
With a bigger one ( 100 - 105 - 110 cm ) the signal will be even better.

Thanks for this, but I won't be spending more money for timebeing. My TV is already loud enough.

The problem is the satellite audio. I get it from most channels, but never from my MP4,MKi,AVI recorded films.
It is the same on every TV I tried, and every decoder.

Its the same with audio on telephone calls: OK over GSM. Tinnitus over WhatsApp/Facetime.

I suspect that the audio is compressed using a method that triggers the T. I know my Tinnitus is often triggered with sounds above 12,000hz.

So, I have to play with the Codec and audio on the Edision image.

Also, there is a severe difference in audio on the openatv 6.4 I have:
Some channels on like 28.2 Channel4, Film4, BBC etc are very audiable at a low volume, but the German channels on 19.2e are barely audible and I have to turn up the volume much louder, which amplifiers other hidden noise which triggers tinnitus.

I have stopped using the Edison for now, because of this. The builtin TV receivers I have is better - My old Philips TV from 2018 does not have this problem. Perhaps it uses an older codec for this.

What a beautiful wooden TV stand they have!

OpenATV 6.5 does not cut it for me. Illogical set-up.

I tried to install openVIX 6.4 last night several times, and no luck. The Edision finds the openvix usb image, and asks me to hold down the OK remote control button for ten seconds ( which for ten seconds?), but immediately boots back into OpenATV when I press OK.

Looks like I will have to use OpenPli instead. Question is do I flash the multiboot image first to get multiboot, *or* do I flash the standard usb image initially and then the multi-boot image on top. No instructions on their site.

Your USB is probably not formatted as MBR, but as GPT
Don't forget to extract it correctly on the USB

I don't think this can help me, because I still have got openATV stuck on my edision

Do I install openvix or openpli normal version first, and then multiboot editions later? This is unclear.

Does the zip used for the initial installation need to have an emmc.img file in it?

It's weird because the OpenVix zip is listed as a recorvery image as opposed to an initial installation but has an emmc.img file in it.

Yet there is a USB version. Not idea what the USB version is for. I thought it was for flashing using the USB, but it does not have a emmc.img in the zip.

can u not use Windows. bootcamp.
ive never had an issue putting an image on using USB stick, you only really need to press red button for a second or two and it starts installing.

let me know if you get the issue i do, if you utilise two tuners....TUNER_A just loses signal, i.e nothing after a day or two ..very odd - only a reboot brings it back! doesnt happen with openatv, but i hate openATV

Actually I have the same setup problem I had with openatv. Automatic on tuner A cannot find any birds. Yet the TV builtin tuner finds everything.
Admittedly today is a bad day to scan given the town is shrouded in a thick layer of fog!

Although it's never obvious to me which tuner I am configuring in the set-up wizard because I do tunerA and then it decides to scan tunerB... gaaah :-) :-)

Anyway, signals coming in. Will re-scan when we have a blue sky day.

lets not get the problem mixed up!
signal is there, for a day or so on TunerA - lets say hotbird at 16db on RAI1 - TunerB on 28.2e - all good for maybe 24 hours
then when i come back, TunerA reports 0% signal, TunerB - fine....

only a reboot brings back RAI1 on TunerA
