Today is the day when satellite DXing in Europe is entering another uncharted territory.
Peon was there when it was necessary to confirm first reception in 18 or 22 GHz band and it is a distinct honor for me to inform you that he is also the first EU explorer of the last Ka frequency band 17.2 - 18.2 GHz.

So from now on is Ka band (17.2 - 22.2 GHz) fully available to be explored....

He does lots of other things, so he has no time to write. Andl if he does, he exchanges information with strannik, DX Bozoth and other guys privately or on other satellite sites.
His granchildren keep him busy, too. Especially during summer time or Xmas. So he can play, but with different toys. ;)

But if he can do what he loves, then his playground looks like the picture below:

If he has the time to tell you to post his stuff on this forum he should have time to post himself, not send a messenger.

The absence of Peon in this particular forum is enigmatic, given that satosk has mentioned his appearing on other forums. If he can keep sending satosk his LNB and feedhorn photos (most of which have been uploaded here ad infinitum), I'm sure he could give us in person more details of his set-up, without having a go-between.

Exactly, I agree 100%., this has gone on for quite some time.

In my personal opinion it seems that it is just a bragfest of equipment owned by Peon posted by his messenger satosk and serves no purpose. However, I accept that other forum members may garner joy or enlightenment from the offerings of Peon via his messenger.

Some of the big dxers man in Europe are not present on European forums for various reasons, most importantly,I think, they can not communicate in a language other than the native language. That's why their admirers wrote about them and their performances. And I can understand these guys that as much as they try to say something interesting about what this great dxers are doing, they can't write in totality, psychologically speaking, the moments by which these dxers go by when they discover something new and interesting. In other words, passion does not live by delegation ,how good a messenger you are trying to be.The role of these messengers is to disseminate information, which is not bad,but it is not enough to show what this dxers are living on.
Maybe that's why I,at least, feel a frustration that they can't communicate with us on enthusiastic forums, like this one. And I agree that it doesn't matter what equipment you own if you don't share your experience to get extraordinary results that others want but not succeed. But,I have to admit, whether you express yourself or not in one language or more, what matters is the results you get. Metaphorically, they reach the highest point of the Himalayas and stay there without going down with all that, paradoxically, there are ordinary people who do not have big claims from others than themselves,as is Mr. Dx Bozoth, perhaps Mr.Peon.
And yet, despite what I have written above, or precisely because of it,I greatly appreciate these passionate people,to whom I take my hat off :-clap

There are 2 types of people out there.
Those, who are morons, who try to prove to themselves that they can do things even they are not capable of.
Then there are those ones, who can do things many of us has never dreamed of, bringing unimaginable to the real world, but they do not wanna be famous or have their names mentioned every time at every occasion becaus ethey life for something else than fame.
They are here simply for one reason. To share new information and their experience for free and make tomorrow`s life easier.
I can personally say that I have never seen 1 post written by DX Bozoth even I am a good friend of him and we have known each other for years.... We do talk, write to each other and so on... and do not give a d*mn thing whether somebody writes something on this or that sat forum.
I do not see any reason why information written by Peon should have a bigger importance to you guys that that one written by me. It is here to inform, not to impress and most importantly none of those shared pictures will never have a copyright sign on `em! Call me a messanger, a secretary or whaever you want, but I am there if my team mate has no time, but has something to share with.
I guess, what matter the most here is the fact, that this information is shared among sat enthusiasts and reaches DXers in DE, FR, Poland, Slovakia or Romania.... Then life finds its way and there is another Dxers with a new gear, then another... None of DXers wants to be the great and only one as this is not cooperation we do talk about all the time.
We want to be remembered for things we share not for those we hide. ;)

Be thankful for what is brought to this forum not the way it is brought here.

The best lead the way and make great friends that brings progress to all of us! Now, then, forever...

No, I will not be thankful for pictures that you have uploaded on behalf of Peon.
As I have said above, other forum members may be thankful for you posting pictures on behalf of Peon and I respect their right to hold that view.

There is an International section on this forum where members can post topics in their own language. If Peon wishes to share DX items of interest he could post himself in his native language in that section of the forum

Not at all moonbase, even I consider myself a moron time by time because I keep forgetting things I used to know very well and maybe because I chose to lead different way of life until there is a breaking point that will return everything I love and want back. That`s why I am also Peon`s fan, a team mate, listener....
I do learn from him a lot and if I do not share his experience and information he wants to share with us maybe half of everything will never be published.
I and a few others will know about it but it will never go public...

Yes, everyone wants to go to a concert and listen to live performance, but we do listen most of the time everything that was at some point recorded anyway. It is the same here. Peon knows that he is welcome on this and other forums, but he prefers spending time by his lathe making this or that to improve signal on his antennas and enjoying simply life as it is.
If it comes to writing if he starts writing he always goes to the point. Makes his thoughts as real as it gets. Check it out.

Does anyone know if that piece of paper still exists somewhere in a museum or a government archive? It was said to be worthless at the time, probably fetch a tidy sum if still in existence and were to be offered for sale at auction?

@satosk,

For that link I thank you.
It is worth using "Google Translate" to read the topic and other topics on that forum, there is some interesting content.

I believe the original is preserved, having been on display for years. The great unwashed now look at a copy at the museum.

Wow, this thread is just full of needless negativity, something satosk does not deserve at all.

I am thankful to him for taking the time to post achievements by others, such as the legendary DX Bozoth and Peon. Without this post, neither I nor probably anyone else would have seen some of the envious equipment that these two have.

It's a known fact that DX Bozoth does not speak English. Why would he waste his time posting on a predominantly English forum? Yes, other people do use Translators, but how many of you go off posting on Dutch, German, Polish and Russian forums through those if your native language is English?

Less hate, people! Be kind.

Message by proxy is fair play, but obtaining answers to questions at one remove can be frustrating.

In this thread I asked satosk what peon had found with his 17.2 - 18.2 LNB. No return as yet on the query.

Perhaps there's an answer to the question somewhere in the links above that would need translating, if I can find an hour or two to find out.
