My Satellite Setup
Thor 5 @ 0.8° W
Hotbird @ 13° E
Y1A @ 52.5°E
My Location
Sweden
I newly purchased some satellite systems (3 dish antenna and receivers) I currently have Hotbird @ 13E, Thor @ 0.8W.

I am trying to setup Y1A at 52.5°E I have created the satellite in the receiver with all TP list.
Point the dish to 52.5 with following:

Elevation: 15.6°
Azimuth (true): 135.0°
Azimuth (magn.): 131.7°
LNB Skew: -22.1°

For some reason I am getting signal from 42E Turksat but when I tried to see if Turksat it self which is listed in satellite receives signals which wasn't receiving.

My question is What can be wrong I have selected 52.5E pointing to it but receiving signal from Turksat.
I am trying this from near Gothenburg, Sweden.

Forget Yahsat - no European beam channelss are currently operational & the channels on the other beams are out of reach to us.

Which channels in particular are you after? There may be alternatives.

Thanks for quick response. I am looking for GEM channels and channels from 11785 H.

Here in Finland one other enthusiast getting some frequencies 52.5E with next levels ->
11747 6.6db
11785 6.9db
11881 6.9db
11938 7.0db
12207 6.9db
12226 6.6db
12284 6.6db
He is using 180 cm prime focus.

I have 125cm offset dish and only 11766V giving about 5 dB (no lock). No signal at all from 11785H.

So, it would be very difficult to get these frequencies from 52.5E in southern Sweden, without quite big dish (2m at least?).

Do we know when the European beam is planned for launch ? I can not find anything on their website.

There were European beam in use at first. @hvdh could remember when they stopped using it? Long time ago anyway...

One frequency was on for about 6 months not long after launch, carrying Saudi Sports channels. Its been silent ever since. Dont hold your breathe for it coming back on again.

From another board I can trace back, the European beam first started in Oct 2011 on 11981V (NGC), later followed by 11881V and 11958V (Saudi). All these disappeared in July 2012.
