software version - $STK6579s170Ecnc
boot version - 0017.1(STK170EC)
i detaily studied the all the above threads, and i follow the same procedure for upgrading software, but can't able to update the software, the system will shows "waiting connect request ask", i wait till one hour but no responce. please any body help me inthis regards

1. make sure that u have got the right serial cable(2-3 ,3-2,5-5)
2.make sure that ur computer's serial port is good (you can change to another computer and try again)

1. are u sure ur receiver is startrack 2004super?
because startrack receiver's software version will start as:
$STKA6177S841SKVnc

2 . try to upgrade ur receiver's loader with buc-file-26.08 ,
then try 2005Super-(20.10.05)

first of all, thank you very much for your patience and great support.

my receiver is labeled startrack 2004super and i don't think there's a good reason for the reseller to fake the brand on the box front. btw, startrack itself s a clone of arion, right?
anyhow, as u adviced i tried to update the loader first but i got the same error message "Download Fail". i suspected the USB-Serial cable could be the cause of the problem, so i tried using a friend's computer just to make sure (no adapters no software drivers this time, just classical standard com1), yet i kept getting the same error message!
to verify the rs232 cable i used it to upgrade a friend's StarSATX200CI box, it worked just fine!!!
do u think my problem is related to the exsiting software? or could it be a hardware problem? in either case, do i need to update the software at this time? i'm getting many encrypted channels (plus tps by daily code) but i can't get polsat anymore............. though it was workin a couple of weeks ago!

I have a Star Track SuperCI receiever with latest SW update being 20/10/05. I have lost the decription on all Multivision channels about 3 weeks ago. Is anyone aware of any new SW updates since? if not, are these channels gone for good?

If you know of any alternate website to download the latest software, please let me know the site adddress.

but you can get multivision by entering keys everyday now.

I tried to register my name twice in the site h**p://www.starsw.com/
for logging in and downloading an update for the receiver. but am unable to get the username and PW for the same (no response at all from almost a week now).
Please guide me. I am located in Muscat, Oman. Is there anything I am missing?
Would greatly appreciate your help.

hi, dear noony,
i am sure its the software problem, not the cable or computer.
there is a software called AUC-HEDIT, with this software u can edit the startrack software to match ur receiver.

you can find the latest key in
http://www.rdi-sat.com/viaccess.php

2. enter "menu"-"game" , firstly "load default key", then select "edit keys"
use left or right button to find the "tps" section, now u can enter the latest keys.
