hi all,

i have StarTrack 2004Super receiver which i would like to upgrade.. the PSLoader.exe gives me an error every time i run the loader (COM1 Open Error).. my laptop comes with 3 USB ports, 1 IEEE port, extra VGA port, vedio-out port but "NO" standard serial or parellel ports!!!
On the other hand, the receiver has a USB port, once connected the Laptop recognizes the new added hardware, but the PSLoader.exe won't connect through USB ports. it keeps looking for serial port "COM1".

any idea how to work around this problem? maybe if there's a way to emulate COM1 over the USB connection? as happens with COM Connection over Bluetooth?

I'm regularly upgrading my Star Track WIB-I. Recently Spice Platinum is stopped completely and Multivision is coming 5.45 AM for 1 hour. I'm in Middle East. Anybody have any idea?

i bought a USB-to-Serial Adapter and it's working fine for me.. but i have a couple of qustions about the update process... my receiver is StarTrack-2004Super and i'm trying to update it with the download file avaialble for the 2005Super; first of all, is this the right thing to do?

my other question is... every time i try to update the receiver using the mentioned update i get an error message (Download Fail). please tell me if i'm doing this the wrong way, here are the steps i'm following:

1. Switch off the receiver.
2. Connect the null modem RS232 cable to both pc and receiver.
3. run Arion software and open the update file.
4. Click send to IRD and a message appears "Waiting connect request ack".
5. Switch on the receiver. =the copying process should start here automatically, right? but instead i get a message "Download Fail".

1. are u sure ur receiver is startrack 2004super?
because startrack receiver's software version will start as:
$STKA6177S841SKVnc

2 . try to upgrade ur receiver's loader with buc-file-26.08 ,
then try 2005Super-(20.10.05)
