The default pin, in the video, is 0 0 0 0, unless you set a new pin it should be that.
Thank you..used that default pin and we've managed to reset.
Just scanning now on Astra 28.2e but the signal is very low for that particular satellite..as per pic.
Just waiting on scan to complete.

I wish you'd mentioned that first, as it's now narrowed down the problem.

You might have to go back to the LNB and check the connections:
F Connector.jpg

You could also have a faulty LNB.

The LNB is the new one.
So, we have channels coming on after the reset now on our upstairs TV. Everything has changed to German language and loads of German channels but that's not a problem really as long as we get some channels.

I don't think there was anything wrong with the original LNB - for some strange reason the settings just went haywire maybe.

Thank you SO much everyone I really appreciate your time helping us with this. You're a fab bunch of folk. :-)
Not sure if we're 100% sorted but so far so good. Thank you all again.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Just tried to factory reset however there is a pin on the setting and I believe this may be because the receiver was designed for the German market as far as I know and the settings have been adapted for the UK - thinking the pin code may be to protect those settings. We imported both receivers from a small retailer in Ireland. I did reach out to them but they are out of the 12 month warranty so they didn't want to help.
Warranty on equipment in the EU is 2 years so best name the dealer in case they try it on with others..

I'm so sorry Mickha, it's difficult when you're not sure what you're looking for to give you the right info. You've all been super patient with us sorting this out. It must drive you all to distraction helping newbies remotely without seeing the settings and issues in person.

So we have channels on the upstairs TV and have tried resetting the downstairs TV now but absolutely nothing happening on that one still.

Both boxes are over 2 years old tbf. But it wouldn't have hurt if they'd been a bit more helpful for sure.

Not sure what I'm checking for Mickha on there.
When we reset the upstairs TV it changed the settings to the pic below which is the Astra 19.2e. Don't know why it's changing things automatically.
We've just tried changing the downstairs settings to the same as the pic to see if that might help as it's working upstairs but not finding anything with those settings.

Try taking the downstairs box upstairs, and connect it to that cable.

Did you set it up as English, following the factory reset?

Will try that now.
Pic showing the results of scan on downstairs TV after reset. Not sure if this suggests anything?

That's really not the point, if the manufacturer is providing a two year warranty, then the wholesaler must follow suit.

I wonder if the DiSEqC 1.0 settings refer to the LNB outputs, so that if the one upstairs cable is from LNB output 1, then you st DiSEqC 1.0 to 1, for LNB output 2, you select DiSEqC 1.0 2, etc..

Hmmm..the downstairs box is now working upstairs. Both Diseqc settings are set to disabled. So both boxes work upstairs. Neither box works downstairs. Could it just be the cable to the downstairs TV has somehow failed? It's only approx 3 years old all cables were put in at the same time. These are the settings showing upstairs now on downstairs box.

You need to check that the cable, going downstairs, is correctly fitted, if it is try it on a different LNB output.

Oh.
I've no idea why or how it's happened, but the spinning locknut on the downstairs connector pulled over the back of the cable when we checked it for tightness so the cable was actually loose within the connector.
The weird thing is that we checked the connection when it first went off and it seemed fine.
Surely that can't have affected both receivers? Did it short out the LNB possibly?

On a positive note we have hundreds of German channels now to delete but that's a tiny problem to solve! :-D

Think we're all good now. Thanks again everyone who helped today, very much appreciated! :-)
