I have just got back from Alicante, and managed to get one of these.Televes TDT satellite receiver for Hispasat,
it only cost €40.The problem i am having is with the tuner on the back of the receiver,it keeps on getting stuck
on the f connector.
I don't understand is it cross threaded or just faulty?? is this maybe the reason for getting it cheap. is it switched on from the guy you bought it from?

Just for interest, as I receive these channelss via my PC tuner, I thought I'd post a list of what channels are carried on each frequency. The HD channels etc are all there even though the TDTSat box doesn't do HD (Which is really stupid considering it's a DVB-S2 box!) as these feeds supply the terrestrial transmitter network as well. Each multiplex is transmitted all ready for the transmitters (and TDTSat boxes) on a single PID which is encrypted in BISS.

Separate PIDs are used for the public TVE channels for La 1 and La 1 HD (versions for every region), and then one "common" La 2, Clan and 24h. This gets reassembled at the transmitters.

I've missed some channels, namely 11382H, and three multiplexes I can't open on 12631/12671V. These are more TVE regions (11382H) and presumably multiplexes MPE4, MPE5 and maybe MPE3 for the Canary Islands (Telecinco has local adverts there) on 12631/12671.

Canal Extremadura and the Asturias channels are the only autonomic channels to have the full multiplex transmitted via Hispasat. Aragón TV used to be there too (on the same transponder) but that's now on 34.5W (using the same full TS encryption). TV3, TVG and CyL7 are just special TDTSat versions of the one channel for the TDTSat boxes and not the transmitter network. TVG and CyL run at around 3Mbps and look absolutely horrendous! TV3 used to do this too but have upgraded to ~5Mbps which looks good.

I'm very interested in receiving these channels as well, I believe you mentioned you wrote a python script for these channels. I have my TBS5925 on my Enigma2 receiver and while I scan on these frequencies I can only get channels like 12671V SID 0x3ec encrypted in BISS with a very strong signal! If we can work something out for these to be decoded, I'll be more than happy to participate!

Well, German is a big problem for me, lol!!! I can understand though that every channel that is being scanned on my receiver is a whole stream encrypted in BISS. Perhaps if I manage to decode each channel and stream the decoded TS via UDP to 4T2 analyzer it could possibly show the encapsulated data, am I on the right track of thinking?
Ideally that would be the easy part of the equation. The hard part would be to create lamedbs with the correct data and biss keys to trick Enigma2 into thinking these are normal channels!

You're on the right lines - but the full multiplex (the single PID carrying the data) is what is encrypted, once that is decrypted the channels inside it are all clear; they're not individually encrypted.

The way I tune them on my computer is:

Tune the transponder and select a PID (e.g. PID 702 on 12548V) --> Decrypt this PID with the BISS key (using VLC's CSA tools) --> Pass the decrypted data to a tool I wrote myself which strips the TS packet headers (You have a full multiplex encapsulated within the data PID of the DVB-S2 transponder - e.g. in this example to get just the wanted data you have to remove the TS packet headers relating to the data PID 702) --> The data that comes out is just a full multiplex TS which can be watched in VLC/streamed out to UDP/dumped to disk.

I don't know how similar to T2MI this is (I've not got any experience of T2MI/4T2), but from what I've read it sounds slightly similar - especially the part of having to strip the outer packet headers to get just the data inside.

In that case things could be even easier!!! Could you send me a PM with more details? For a first I need the BISS key(s) for the TS and see what happens!

They've added the TV Canaria channels from the Canary Islands to this recently. Should be viewable on any TDT Sat box registered in the Canary Islands I believe.

Technical info -

11342H PID 2307 - carrying TV Canaria, TV Canaria HD, Canarias Radio and Radio Ecca. Full TS BISS encrypted like the other services.

Apparently there's now an HD version of the official TDT Sat receiver available too.

we have the proper box and believe me it's absolute crap. as are all the programs. they can't even put adverts between the titles... they have just updated it again and it's still rubbish it only has 13 channels on it and half of them are even worse than the others... a waste of money i have only kept it to watch MotoGP but they have stopped having that Live most of the time and do it sunday night at midnight....rubbish

In the meantime, @MCelliotG has got these channels working in Enigma 2, and I'm still watching them fine with TVHeadend. :D

Since a driver update for my TBS6905 I can now see the SNR values in dB, and it really shows how wildly the transponders used differ in strength!

For 12548V I get ~11.5dB
Whereas for 12671V I get ~15dB.
The others seem to be anywhere between 12 and 14dB.

It's very bizarre that they are that different. As far as I'm aware they're all carried by the newer and stronger 30W-5 (Hispasat 1E). The Meo transponders (also S2 with FEC 3/4) are all around 15dB on my 80cm dish, but if they're deliberately weakening TDT SAT then they're not doing it very consistently. I'd be interested to know if the signals are more consistent in Spain!

Dear John896, I don't know you, but I am interested in your purchase.

I have the SD version of that receiver (a crap!).
I would like to know if the HD version can record (It should do it) and the TS is watchable by VLC,
Then is it needed a spanish adress to buy it?
Thanks

Very interesting that they seem to be selling the receivers publicly now. Maybe they've realised that it was absolutely pointless to make them only available to people who could prove they don't receive a terrestrial signal!
