Great thread and I am waiting for my Omnikey reader. I have a smargo reader and was wondering if anybody got it to work with the white card on a DM7025?

One observation: You list parity as odd for the smargo, I thought it is none according to my documentation when using it on a windows box, should be 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. Just wonder whether that might be the problem.

Feel free to experiment with settings mate. I spent hours running all kinds of variations on the smargo, it just doesn't work.

I now have it installed and it works a treat with no freezes, but only on the internal LAN. I will now try external and see how they go.

Note: I had to set the /etc/CCcam.prio as follows:
P: 0963:0961

Without this line it prefers remote to my local card.

I have one strange problem and that is that I can't access CCcam 2.1.2 from the web, it does not respond. NewCS is fine from web interface.

Recognising the card on reboot occasionally fails, so you have to check if you reboot. This should not be a problem as the DM7025 very seldom needs a reboot. Easiest command to use is: "dmesg | grep OMNI" . This should return one line with "Omnikey......" - it gets rid of the splurge of output produced by dmesg.

If you have newcs already installed, it is wise to rename your newcs.mips.pcsc to the exact same name of your currently installed newcs name as that way it will start automatically when you restart the CAMS or the box. Otherwise a restart will restart the non-pcsc executable and things will not work.

Great thanks to B16MCC for all his work on this and the cheap Omnikey solution he came up with. Also many thanks to all the developers that provided the CAMS as without them we would be sorely stuck.

I now have the Omnikey working on DM7025 on local LAN. I did try to post earlier, but it says the post requires admin approval and it has not appeared yet, so here are the results:

You have to insert the following into /etc/CCcam.prio:
P: 0963:0961
if you want to ensure it uses your local white card.

When you install newcs.mips.pcsc, make sure you overwrite the one that you installed from your image server; that way it will automatically be started on reboot or cam restart. If you dont overwrite the image version, it will be the one that gets started next time you reboot or restart the cams and your sharing will fail.

Thanks to B16MCC for al the work he has put in, as well as to the developers for their stirling efforts in maing the cams and images work.

It depends on your box (and image)... on the 7020 the newcs.xml is located in /tuxbox using the pli image. On the 800 with nabilo it's in the /tuxbox/config dir. I suggest using the tool from B16MCC, it's great and it will transfer your config files for you in the right place. If I can make a suggestion to B16MCC is to add the "smargo" or usb mount points for the external readers. Just a suggestion and THANKS FOR ALL YOUR WORK!

i have put those 2 files in the locations you mentioned. I dont know why it is not working. The white card has been in my sky box for the past month or so so should be activated with that box.

B16MCC - As soon as I added the N-line to the CCcam.cfg the web interface to CCcam stopped working with "failed to connect". In actual fact it is "Cannot find server or DNS error". Now this is interesting as that happens when I go to _http://192.168.1.84:16001 (theCCcam port) , but when I go to _http://192.168.1.84 I get the TV interface no problem and I can watch over the LAN no problem. It seems CCcam for some reason is not listening on the 16001 port anymore. This also happened on my second DM7025 which is on CCcam 2.0.9. The only config change I made was to add the N: line before any C: lines.
I will investigate further. I seem to remember that there is a setting somewhere that limits the number of connections, but I will have to find it again. Obviously newcs has added at least 2 extra listening ports.

Both DM7025 run Gemini but 2 different versions. The second one is still on an old version. The first one is the latest with newcs 1.67 RC1 and CCcam 2.1.2.

I just commented out the N line from the the CCcam.cfg and now the CCcam web interface works again. Then uncommented it and the web interface is unavailable again. So it is definitely the N line that causes the problem (on client and server CCcam).


EDIT: Correction, after commenting and then uncommenting and rebooting the box, the interface now works!!!!!!!!! But only on the older version which turns out to be CCcam 2.0.11 not 2.0.9 as I thought. A further bit of info: the DM600 is not affected and it IS runninf CCcam 2.0.9 and Gemini 4.3.

Thats very interesting info shumifan50. Although I'll struggle to help on this one as I have not come across the problem myself.
The only thing that springs to mind here is to make sure you simply don't duplicate any ports for the different services in NewCS and CCcam.

I've had my white card in my dm7000 running pli newcs & mgcamd since the end of august. Entitlements when I checked on sept 6th were all showing 2009-10-21. checked again now and they are all showing 2009-11-10.

i thought newcs wasn't supposed to be capable of updating entitlements?

Hi i have a problem with my sly new card i am trying to use smargo problem is i can,t get newcs 167 to read it cccam 2.1.2 is showing in webinfo card identefied with correct caid 963 this card is fully activated working in dreambox want to move to linux pc server debian any advise where i am going wrong

hello,
was wondering if anyone ever received a new white card and it was defective
or did not update.
first guess was softwhere was not updated so i did a hard boot.
then checked to see that there was no mistake in old number or something and there was no mistake, them i tried again, it says this is the wrong card for this box.
all the numbers mate up ok .
this is the first time in 20 years i have seen this kind of problem.
any takers on this one??
