BBC Three / CBBC (DSat1) and BBC News (DSat 2) moved to DSat6 (Astra 1N tp 48 - 10818V)

BBC ALBA and BBC One North East & Cumbria moved from DSat6 to DSat2 (Astra 1N tp 47 - 10803V)

BBC Four / CBeebies (DSat2) and BBC Red Button stream 1 (DSat7) moved to DSat1 (10773H)

This is in preparation for shutting down the 11954H widebeam tp carrying the BBCi & radio channels.

The second stage is overnight on 15/16th October - the radio services migrate & 4 of the BBCi services are discontinued. 11954H then closes at the end of October.

And anyone with proprietary Freesat boxes will need to do a Freesat re-tune as the changes have not been reflected in the 03.00 daily housekeeping routine.

BSkyB boxes are ok.

It seems that Freesat have now awoken from their stupor and boxes should have updated automatically as of around 11.00 today.

But for anyone who customarily powers their box down when not in use, a Freesat Tune will still be necessary (probably).

Doubt it very much - the BBC/ITV signals disappeared from Cyprus when Astra 1N went into service

Only if you can get the uk beam!

Might be worth investigating ip delivered solutions if you like the BBC programmes.

Isn't it Sunday in to Monday for the Sky novation and Monday in to Tuesday for Freesat's? I seem to remember dates of the 15th for Sky and 16th for Freesat being mentioned in Alix's blog post.

Hi
If it's any help, I am still getting 6711 - 6715 here in East Crete. Obviously just a test signal with too many red circles!!

The streams on the Astra 2B will cease by the end of October. On 10773H the BBCi 1 stream lit up under Channel ID "6390".

The radio channels have started on 10788V and 10803H. For now there's no EPG and no channel names as well.

well if you posted ´teresa may said´´ then i would have looked at date better ...but that would be the 16th not the 15th ,so why did they say 15th??

Because its on the night of the 15/16 October which ties the timeslot down nicely. Alternatively the early hours of the 16th would have worked..

Hopefully Freesat will be more on the ball this time - either that or I shall be more patient waiting for them to do EPG Housekeeping.

Only got two Red Button Streams stored anyway on the non-Platform boxes, so minimal Channel editing there, too.

Yes, a shame really.

But in some ways they've got away with effectively having more "Channels" than Ofcom actually allowed for years.

Q: When is a Channel not a Channel?

A: When it's an Interactive Stream

Yes, guv, really!
