I agree it's one group one night and another on the next. Depends on the mood. But I've added Aerosmith who are still going strong. I'm thinking of adding Metallica who probbaly are my favourite.

Floyd of course. I knew them in the pre-Gilmour days when they were starting out here in my home town.

Pity Syd Barrett had to leave - I preferred his quirky lyricism with songs like 'See Emily Play' and 'Arnold Layne'. Sadly missed.

I see him occasionally wandering around my local supermarket, not the same guy now of course, but at least he's still with us, in body if not in mind.

Good to see the other members back for the upcoming gig at live8.

Ive added in Fleetwood Mac. "The Chain" contains on of the all time great guitar twangy bits. (Used to be used for the BBC F1 coverage until ITV nabbed the rights)

Ah. Fleetwood slipped my mind, don't forget their early but exceptional "Oh Well" is still a landmark single in my eyes. :)

All excellent bands. I think it'll be headphones and mp3 player later today. :)

I see U2 has a vote now. This will be an interesting one to watch.

OH. :(

Perhaps you can create a poll but not edit it then.
Suppose it makes sense as anyone could put silly stuff in and ruin it .

I'll just have to leave it up to you guys to add groups when you get a chance, if required of course.

How about adding Kiss?

I've added The Grateful Dead for any Deadheads out there. Oh, and The Byrds.

:) Thanks Llew. There are quite a few choices now, can't be many left to add.
Just need some more votes now!

...and of course 'Songbird' by Christine McVie was later to become the title track of an album by the, sadly departed, Eva Cassidy.:)

Perhaps we ought to start the poll again and allow people to tick more than one box, the end result would still give us the most popular, but would mean that people like myself can then vote. :)

Also, please put in two Fleetwood Macs, the one with Peter Green (which was of course the best white blues rock band of all times) and then the US Fleetwood Mac version with that throaty bird with the funny clothes.

Now I can't believe all of you did not notice that one MAJOR rock band is missing: Cream!!??? Without Cream I suppose half of the bands in thet list would not be there.
And what about The Jimi Hendrix Experience?? Qualify as a band I hope! Best Power Trio ever?

Um, not sure about that one. Wouldn't it lead to a pretty even spread across the board when we really need the outright winner to be shown as a clear margin.

I know it is tricky to make a choice, I would vote for most of them if I had the option, but I decided that out of the all my out right favourite was PF.

Anyone else have any views on this?
