Also, please put in two Fleetwood Macs, the one with Peter Green (which was of course the best white blues rock band of all times) and then the US Fleetwood Mac version with that throaty bird with the funny clothes.

Now I can't believe all of you did not notice that one MAJOR rock band is missing: Cream!!??? Without Cream I suppose half of the bands in thet list would not be there.
And what about The Jimi Hendrix Experience?? Qualify as a band I hope! Best Power Trio ever?

Good points TG!

If your favourite band isn't here, don't vote, ask for it to be included. This isn't a definitive list of bands, so unless you would vote for them as your best, don't ask us to include them

Best known was "Love Like a Man" - Ten Years After.

Great guitar riff.

I had a listen to that 007.4. I do recognise it, good track, but I haven't heard many of their other songs.

Have a look at the forums visited poll, it had multiple choice and still managed to come up with different percentages.

As I said, many people (like me) will not vote at all if they cannot make a clear decision

I have no objections if you wish to make the necessary changes. ;)

I would go for multiple, as this is not a Highlander poll...There cannot be only one :-laugh

There will be a winner for sure, other polls have shown this. But, at the end of the day the person who invented the poll has the right to decide how it should be, If he wants only one choice, then so be it.

In this case one should then add the option: "Too many good bands - cannot decide"

Cannot change this one, you either start from scratch, or we can add T_Gs's option. :)

Actually, would it be better if you had three different votes? Making sure that it's one vote for three groups.

TG's idea would be good. Although couldn't that be covered by the "other" option already there?
We have had too many votes already to start again I think.

The other option just means that their choice isn't there, whereas T_Gs option means that they really can't choose a single band.

I would replace the other option with T_G's and then we can add more bands as and when people ask for them.

Genesis has been added, everyone just needs to ask if their favourite isn't there.

Nice touch to the original post lads, thanks.

Early results after the first day show..

1st Queen - 21 votes (23.6%)
2nd Pink Floyd - 15 votes (16.85%)
3rd Undecided voters - 10 votes (11.24%)

Anyone placing bets yet? ;)

The voting is coming along nicely.

Could you please add Little Feat. I've had a request.
Many thanks. :)

I`ve already voted but maybe bands like Wings, The Hollies, & classics like The Shadows deserve a few votes...purely based on record sales/musical talent. (I know - too many factors to consider). If i could vote again, Instead of opting for the best `Live` band i`ve seen (not just because i got turned down when i asked Mr Rossi if i could play drums for one number), my choice would be for the most successfull. Not the greatest live act in their day and certainly not the most musically tallented, The most influential group in pop history...there really has to be only one winner...
