I dragged the filters over the "register.bat" icon in the filters folder, is this the right way to register them?
I'm sure they are in the correct folders.

well prof i'm glad youve got altdvb in hd.....:D

would/could you now enlighten us to any settings we need to know about:)
There's no big deal actually.

- Installed elecard and ac3filter codec (also have cyberlink and dscaler, they all work great)
- Installed latest altdvd (unziped it to a folder)
- Sent a link to the desktop and turned it on
- Added all satellites I needed
- Updated all transponders list (it downloads directly from satcodx)
- Under settings\video directshow click the edit now DS filters button
- Better yet, right click the black screen window and click on DS Config and go from there...
- Choose you favy codecs or just use the options given
- Did a scan for all satellites
- Tunned to Astra HD and that's it

DVB-S1 works great.

I think I registered the filters properly now (edited the "register.bat" file in filters folder of progbvb).
Now I can get BBC HD (wow!) only prob is the picture just shows a still frame and the aspect ratio is wrong (stretched vertically).
My system is an Athlon64 4000 cpu asus A8N SLI mobo. gforce 7800 graphics and 1meg ram. CPU stuck at 100% when progdvb is running.
Progress, yes, but not much good for watching the footie :(

Altdvb folder

You will notice lot's of channels missing, that's because of those hard to get transponders in Madeira. Some frequencies could be missing.

Before you use altdvb, install these or else it won't work, you will get missing codec error messages.

Tuesday I been fidling around and after that Astra HD droped from 78% to only 25% cpu and regular channels some 5% and got a lot less bluring on fast action scenes. I can't remember exactly what I did, but I installed this codec too:

These are my pc specs:
-A64 3000+
-512 DDR
-Asus K8V Deluxe
-Ati Radeon 9800 Pro
-WINXP PRO

Thanks DreamMate, this one works the best for me so far (picture actually moves a bit).
However I'm getting no sound and the picture is stretched vertically.
Anybody doing any better than this?

I've sorted the aspect ratio by changing the filter from the drop down list,
these ones all give me the correct AR

H264_OVRL_MC-V_ML_A_
H264_OVRL_MC-V_MPEG-A
H264_MC-V_CL-A

All I need now is some sound a better frame rate.
Does anyone know how to measure frame rate in progdvb?

I still have very low frame rate with Prgdvbhd.
My graphics card is supposed to have hardware mpeg4 decoding (its a gforce 7800gt with latest drivers) but its my cpu that seems to be doing all the work and sticks at 100%.
Also I still have no sound.
Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated.

maybe you need to install Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 HD.
it has the required a/v codecs for HD.

note: the keygen is attached.

try & reply :)

good luck

Thanks Dreammate but I've got PowerDVD 7 installed already.
My system is Asus A8N m/b. Athlon64 4000+. gforce 7800 GT. 1Gig Ram.
Twinhan Starbox USB2.
Progdvb is the only programme which I can get to work in HD mode with the Starbox. I've got a skystar2 card but can't use it with my asus mobo.
Maybe its an issue with the Starbox?

This is interesting..
If I record BBC HD from Progdvb and then playback the *.ts file with Media Player Classic (using CoreAVC as external filter) then the video is much smoother and I have sound as well (although it is hopelessly out of sync).
Is it possible to stream the signal to MPC via Progdvb and watch it on MPC in real time?
If so, anyone know how to do it?

Sir bronking
I tried dvbdream but can't get it to work with Twinhan Starbox. Unfortunately a lot of software which works with Skystar2 doesn't seem to recognise the Starbox. This also applies to Altdvb, Skyview and the HD versions of Dvbviewer.
So I'm stuck with progdvb and can't find a Coreavc filtergraph.
Anyone know how to go about putting one together?
