Reception of channels with horizontal polarization works, vertical not

Hi,

I have a new dish pointed corectly toward HELLAS2 (39E) but I can't receive ANY channel sent with vertical polarization. Channels with horizontal polarization works perfectly.
The signal strength shows 90% for all channels with horizontal polarization but 0 for all those with vertical polarization.
The LNB is universal and I have also tried to replace it by another one. Its rotation (skew) is correctly set, according to my location (24 degrees clockwise). I have tried to turn it to different positions all around 360 but no luck with reception of channels with vertical polarization.
Any idea what to do?

Thanks in advance

What size dish are you using?

Can you get signals on both polarities from the nearby satellites (42 E ) ?

Either your receiver isn't changing the polarity, or more likely the LNB is faulty.
Try your receiver on a different dish, and check you can get vertical polarity channels.
If your receiver is fine check the connections, and cable, then try the LNB on a different set up.

Faulty lnb I dont think because it was changed by another one .
Maybe wrong lnb setting , should be "universal"
Or receiver is sending lnb voltage over 14 volt at Vertical mode

LNB was changed, indeed.
The setting is correct, Universal LNB.
I checked the voltage, the receiver is sending 12,8V at all time.
Tried to put a little Sat finder device between the LNB and the receiver, at receiver side. It shows a proper signal at all time. When I switch to horizontal polarity, a led is shortly flashing and then it lights up, indicating the H polarity. When I switch to vertical polarity channels, the led is flashing every 3 seconds.

Which receiver ?

Can you borrow another ?

I took the receiver to my mom's apartment and mount it on her dish. It works perfectly there.
I wonder if the length of the cable has anything to do with this. It reaches 150 ft (45m). I've added an amplifier which boosts the signal to 99% on the horizontal channels but doesn't change anything on vertical ones.

If the receiver is ending out 13V all the time even in Horizontal mode then it is faulty. It should switch to 18V when a Horizontal channel is selected.

Maybe the amplifier is cause of the problem, then? Or was this just a test, and you didn't have it permanently?

Was the voltage still the same (12,8V) at your mom's appartment?

BTW: Tom started a parallel-thread here: Reception of channels with horizontal polarization works, vertical not
So to not do unneccesay work: check there also.
