Hi Scopus - could you please post a picture of your 1.8CM with the LNB and the inclination arrangements?

I have been reading this thread with great interest, and have ordered the said LNB to experiment getting back ITN news net since its departure from 24W. I look forward to joining this thread when I get the LNB and modding a bracket for my channel master 1.8
I may have to remove my C Band LNB and attach there and use my inclined jack as I do to receive C Band. Mounting it at the side maybe problematic owing to the dish boom arms.

I'm trying too but hitting the upload file doesn't open the option to upload.

You don't mention the SUP2400 base band converter Scopus ..
I assume you ordered one of those as well ?
Look forward to the results of your experiments..
an SL3 at the focus of a 1.8 should produce good results.

Hi Viperspan,

Yes I did order the SUP2400 converters and will be following your diagram in regards to connection. I have the new Alien 3 here, I should be able to set the local ocillator manually for the KA side if things. Some pictures of my current arrangement.

Interesting arangement and pics ...
I can see why you might have trouble mounting the SL3 but a suitable bracket and mounted in place of the C band PLL might work..
Just keep in mind the weight of the SL3 ..
it is a lot heavier than anything you have on their already ..

Do my old eyes deceive me or are you growing spikes out of the top rim of the 1.8 ??

Thanks. C band works quite well, I just lift the dish with my Jack. I could really do a big mod and somehow lower the arms on the Channel Master, I think I saw a similar arrangement on here some time back. But for now, I think where the C Band sits will do for experimenting.

I was lucky CJ that motor is a 1224 inside but the casing is a Jumbo Motor made by Unicorn Satellites some years back. The casing is much thicker than a 1224 and stood up well to the December gale last year.

A little better with the SL3 0n the 1M Triax. Managed to lock 18506V, no video showing for me, but not data - is that a Newsnet carrier VS?

Hi Guys,

How do you mod the SUP2400?, bearing in mind I have no PC satellite card here just receivers. I take it has to be modded to receive Newsnet?

I still can't see it VS, what is the number of the post, I can see the mod for the LNB but not for the SUP2400.

Sorry to be a pain!

Getting better. Taped a 15mm brass bathroom tap connecter nut (!) across the port to increase the capture area from dish to LNB - increases all carriers by +2dB :)
Newsnet room camera feed now locked.

So some experiments to do to make some kind of flared feedhorn attachment possibly, to suit the SL3 to a Triax.
