Actuators AGAIN ...

Lol sorry pal, ive not taken a good look but the wiring looks different on some of them, I needed two positioners anyhow so no loss if its not needed it will drive something a picture of yours will help when you can find a mo to post it up
 
Yeah will try tomorrow or over the weekend. Not really a priority over other 2000 things that need doing around the house (I am sure you can relate). Barely have time to read the forum properly... And do full time day job as well :(

Sorry pal I know your busy but I was trying to help you as well as me, I know at least 3 of mine are fine and that's all I will be using.

ok .... so the ones you have martin are reed sensor units. the reed sensor units are the newer technology. they can be driven by any v-box2,g-box,alsat g3000 box, rc2000 ,etc.
the actuator that CJ has is a pot type. its the older technology. it can only be driven by a really old stb or really old standalone positioner that has the pot type interface. they are rare like SSS says.
I agree that SSSès website is misleading. i doubt a sensor type positioner (hall, reed or optical) like the EZ will work with a pot type actuator. the internal circuitry of a pot type positioner is completely different from a sensor type positioner.

since the actuators you have martin are reed type your test will only prove what we already know .... your actuators will work with any EZ,PR-1000,ALSAT G3000, rc2000 etc.
CJ has to test his pot type actuator with his EZ. I seriously doubt it will work properly in the long term though.

something like a really old analog receiver or really old standalone positioner might work. You would have to check their manuals to see if the positioner interface says pulse type sensor or pot type. Or check the wiring diagrams.

Many thanks beavs, ive checked all mine and there fine no pot:), so I guess the information will help Alex when he finds the time to start work on his dish.
 
My positioners turned up this morning, quick delivery, now for the pain of setting them up :(, at a first glance I thought the two HD actuators was the same but there is a few differences, one is 30 inch and the other is 26 inch, the 30 inch, I am unsure of the make but can only presume its another superjack the box and label just say made in the usa, I will have a read up and see if I can find this model.

Its magic mushroom time is it not ? that would make it more interesting, never tried them/never will but ive heard a few stories about peeps taking them over the years:rolleyes:
