Had a minor op this morning at the Dr's to cut out a lump from my leg. Now I have 14 stitches in my leg.

Now I am board as all I can do for a couple of days is sit and watch tv :-(

Hopefully I can move around tomorrow, as it's starting to annoy me now, and it's only been a few hours.
You have just lied! How can you post on the forum if all you can do is sit and watch TV!
GWS :D

Dr has just phoned me to let me know the lab results have just come back, on the lump that was cut out of my leg, last Tuesday.

Everything is clear and normal (no signs of skin cancer):-woohoo

Just having to endure the latest episode of Emmerdale. After a whole four days of who is going to die when, with all the build up ( I did tell SWMBO it was all the same car crash on Wednesday ) They still keep trying to keep you on the toes! What a load of excrement.
Tell her that!

@Milamber

No, they were just telling/selling "porkies" (and quite "wild" ones at that, but sounded "tasty"):)

"Ena Sharples" was considered almost a "national treasure" in those days, and I have to say I watched many episodes with my Mum and her brother Fred, and then, many years later, Mum kept renting a later (colour!) set for a very long because he had rented that until he died - but that's the way it generally was in those days because the sets were fairly unreliable (and maybe that's what we are getting back to now - or am I reading into current TV reliability reports more than is justified?)

I only remember watching Corrie with mum, as a very young child in the 80's. I can vaguely remember Hilda & Stan Ogden. But I am far to young to remember old money.

The bit I found funny was the massive 21" super slim, I bet in reality the cabinet was 40" square and I bet it took 2 big blokes to move them.

And I guess I was "lucky" as everything I watched as a kid was in colour, but I do know people that watched come dancing, only because it was in colour.

Beginning a TV service engineer apprenticeship in the mid 1960's, I came across many of these. We used to 'refurb' them and they were marketed as rental TV's for OAP's (at something like 5/- a week). I can vouch for the fact the larger ones were heavy, though mainly for this particular rental market we sold 17" screens.

I do remember Coronation Street, with Ena Sharples and Minnie Caldwell, plus the other one who used to wear a beret but whose name I can't recall.

This was obviously before decimalisation and my first pay packet was £3 9s 9d.....
