Problems with wall bracket

Yes, another issue I've found is that there is no drain hole at the bottom of that weld so all rainwater is nicely being collected inside ready for rust to take hold. This is what I had from Dave @ SSS on the matter...

Hi Alex

The metal is that thick I think it would take many years to be a problem

However, an Aerosol of Hammerite waxoil sprayed in should sort it out

this is what you put inside the chassis of a car

Available from Halfords

thanks

For the price we've paid, we should NOT be worrying about these things - it should have been made out of stainless steel or properly galvanised.
Just to follow up on this - very disappointed with the quality of the unit. Already seeing rust forming after just a few months under the flaking paint. And much rusting inside.

Where's the "superior" British manufacturing gone? This one almost looks like it was made in China!

Time to order bits to make my own adapter.

Probably was made in China, that's where they get most things from, looks like its stressed and moved to flake paint like that. that's the same place my friends broke. shouldn't be doing that at the price they sell them top dollar for crap

Totally agree. I will write to him to let him know my dissatisfaction with the product.

Sorry to see that, my condolences : )

Image is of brand new 550 mm stand off wall bracket from Satellite Super Store.

As I did up the bolts that hold the bolt together sections, the paint lifts as can be seen round the washer.

A Primesat 1.3m again from SSS that that we just took down after 12 months, the bolts that hold the bracket to the dish were rusted on so solid, that the studs that locate in a square in the dish face to stop them turning, turned, rounding the hole and lifting the paint on the dish face.

All the paint on the bracket itself had already pealed away.

So much for baked on, I have re-painted both brackets, they should have been galvarnised : )
