I'm for business trip to Ahmedabad. I would like to buy large size (8-10-12 ft) satellite dish (petal or dismantlable) and take it with me. Can you suggest me a good shop? there are some available online. but none of them stocks large dishes.
Give it another try today. Found another sat, with a lot of transponders, but only two were lockable:
11563 SR 13998
11625 SR 5425
There were also bumps on spectrum analyzer around 11080, 11130, but receiver can not have lock.
Found, this is Intelsat 15 @ 85.2E, just lyngsat has no...
As far as I know, linear increase of dish size does not linearly increases the gain. For example, difference between 60cm and 120cm dish gain is more, then 120cm vs 240cm. As dish size goes higher, effective illumination area decreases.
It will destroy, and I've already killed several of them, if temperature is rapidly decreased/increased (I've poured liquid nitrogen, and after opening dead lnb, found all parts unsoldered). This system has quite large intertia, so it cools down/warms up gradually. The another problem is that...
I know that LNB cooling is not the best way, but I would disagree that it is more expensive than larger dish.
Now I have 1.5 meter primefocus dish. If upgrading, should get at least 2.4 meter one. For the 2.4 meter one, I have the following choices:
1. Prodelin 1251, 1700...
Hello everyone, long time no post here :)
Since I can't get any dish larger than 1.5 meters for reasonable price, I decided to squeeze out maximum from my system, and built a cryogenic LNB cooling system. It consists of series of peltier modules and brings LNB main body temperature to whopping...
We're receiving several transponders from Astra 2B North beam on 1.5 meter primefocus. As others say (I haven't seen by myself) on 2.4 meter north beam comes almost complete and several transponders from south beam also do appear. Reception is year time dependent, worst is august-september, and...
Even diseqcs/cable joiners steal your signal. For example, 1M european beam is OK (sometimes pixelates, but overall is ok), if I've hooked receiver directly to LNB via short, 1 meter cable. But when I just plug it into 10 meter cable+diseqc, I can't lock signal any more.
Here, in Tbilisi (East Georgia), so called "european beam" of 3B is OK on 60cm dish, but fades quickly in rain (very interesting comparison, say we have 7dbi signal power on both 1M wide beam and 3B europe beam, each are on separate 60cm dishes. Rain started... 1M will hold up quite well, but 3B...
SO no way for me to use my high tech receiver, and I have to stick with junk they provide?
can I create private c/s system ? I mean, putting their receiver always on, with card in it, which will serve me as source of keys for my receiver?
Hello. I'm receiving both packages here and can buy card & receiver easily. However, I don't want to use their receiver, since I already have receiver. Encryption is Videoguard, so is it possible to unpair card from dedicated receiver and use it in another receiver?
No, strength increase is not such strong. For example, on my 1.5m offset dish, 1M wide beam transponders have 15db signal strength, but certain 1M europe beam transponders were 1-2db and unlockable, and now, they are 5db and lockable. Previously, 12640 and some others were listed as 1H on...
Thanks, I already have report from Lithuania - signal is same there, so I don't think Helsniki will notice any change.
Too bad my Dvbdream trial expired, so I can't further log signal changes across the timeline. Maybe there is some freeware alternative?
