Thanks for the responses. 3.1E looks interesting. I don't know about 42E - the span to 5W might be too much for a T90 dish.
I'm not certain about 1W because it's all subscription channels and I recall the professional installer who set up the original 4 lnb config about 10 years ago having...
Having disconnected my Sky+ box and replaced it with a new Now TV smart box (with DTT) I find there is a large amount of overlap with the FTA channels from 28.2E on my Vu+Duo2. I was wondering if it would be profitable to re-align the LNB at 28.2E to something else. If so what are the options ...
The 2 HD channels you mention are only available on Sky sub cards that include the HD option. Freesat from Sky cards are very limited with respect to the channels they give you over and above the free to air ones. If I remember right only a handful of Sony channels, maybe Motors TV and not much...
4) else - you name It but without ugly T90 etc
Sad you rule out the T90 at the start because it's ugly. I suppose it's the dish/reflector setup that displeases the eye but it's that that makes it effective. I've had one for more than ten years. It's in the garden behind the roses & other shrubs...
As Analoguesat says "You will need a subscription registered in Ireland" that means an Irish address and an Irish bank account or credit card to pay the sub. Any support phone calls to Sky would have to be made from an Irish phone number. Your best hope is to engage the help of family members...
Does this development not enable you to unplug the external hdd, connect it to a PC running exPVR or Copy+ and extract digital copies of the unencrypted recordings ?.
The only thing that could defeat this would be an extension of HDCP to all Sky+ recordings.
@Analoguesat - I agree, it is a very interesting post. I wonder why there seems to be little interest in it here. There is a slightly more expansive posting on Skyuser by the same member mrmt32. If it works then it at least offers the possibility of exporting the unencrypted SD stuff from Sky+...
Thanks for the helpful comments chaps. It sounds like a pair of long nose pliers and a flat blade screwdriver are needed to simply prise the switches out of the housings, with an F-connector to protect the threads.
I've just bought a pair of these switches to extend the lnb choice on a DB7000 and DB7020. They're the sort that have a reddish/pinkish plastic weatherproof housing. Problem is they seem to be well and truly jammed into the housings and I'm not certain whether or how I should try to get them...
The WNDR3700 has a built in switch - it's a router. The first thing to check is that the DM7020 and the wndr3700 are in the same network domain. Looking at the manual for the router the default i/p address appears to be 192.168.1.1. The usual default i/p for a Dreambox is 192.168.0.24. One or...
If you can't mount the W7 share on the DM500 then first check that both devices are in the same network domain - e.g i/p addresses such as 192.168.0.24 and 192.168.0.1. You should also check for any fire-wall problems on your lan - W7 might be too restrictive. Personally I wouldn't use any...
Thanks for the quick response. It looks like I shall have to upgrade the flash image - either via FlashWizard or the serial cable. Naively I had assumed at one point that each multiboot image was totally self-contained wrt to all software but it seems that the multiple images share a common core...
Just for info - card works OK in tandem with a S*y freesat card in my DM7000 but I can't get the DM7020 to read the Tring card at all - using working config files copied over from the DM7000 and amended for i/p and port differences. The card runs fine under newcs on the 7020. I'm using...
Thanks for the clarification.
The dealer's statement quoted in a post in the Conax... forum on here starts "We were raided by The City of London Police, The EPL and MPS on Thursday 18th August 2011 at 5.30 AM under warrant."
I think he was calling the visit a police raid. Semantics aside I think...
