I think so too, tbh. What did broadcasters and rights holders want with the 2F satellite? A spot beam that was as tight as possible. I am sure if the technology was advanced enough to make the beam drop to zero right outside the UK's three mile zone, then that's what we would see (or not see ;)...

So you're saying that 2E's UK spot beam aerial can be expected to be pretty much a carbon copy of that on 2F? (and that the 2E satellite has essentially been in storage at SES the last year?)

Exceptionally poor reception here tonight on 4seven and Channel5. It has honestly never been this bad at this time of the day since 2F took up service. Around midnight CET, both transponders were back more or less, but now, Channel5 is gone again and 4seven is hanging on for dear life at 2.5 dB...

well if this is how it's going to be with 2F permanently, a few weeks of somewhat good reception and then a few days of not so great signal up to total signal loss, and then back to normal, then that's something I think most of us can live with. There are other things to life besides UK telly...

It's pretty much always like that here. Decent reception throughout the morning (about 7-9 am), noon, and early afternoon, then the signal deteriorates quickly towards late afternoon, no more lock from about 6-7pm, and then it sometimes comes back at 11pm, sometimes not until about 1 or 2 am...

that TP has two Sky Sports 1 HD entries and SBO HD2 and Sky Living HD here on my computer. And it comes in here clear as day, 52% signal strength and 100% signal quality on ProgDVB. Maybe Sky is starting to move its content over to 2F?
