Keith - sorry, I should have got back to you sooner. No juddering at all watching football or indeed any other sports. The only problem I had one night - some weeks ago - was a number of occurrences when the picture froze but that has not happened again. I am hoping that was just literally a...
Yes, I have had one for about 3 months now. I certainly can tell the difference between SD and HD when watching golf and football. Some of the BBC HD pictures are pretty impressive too especially the geographical/nature ones.
No, it just freezes but the sound carries on. Switch to another channel and then back to the original and all is OK for a while. Recorded programmes on the planner seem unaffected. The fault does appear to be very sporadic though.
I assume that as it is only 3 months old - and has a 1 year warranty - that any repairs and/or visits by engineers are covered and should not attract additional payment i.e no call-out fee. If not, I shall cancel and revert to just SKY+.
Is this component problem just attributable to the Thomson...

Thanks. No, the picture looks to me to be OK. It was just what I had read elsewhere that it could be even better with a higher quality connection between the SKY HD box and the TV. I will stick to this forum in future and not get my head full of nonsense!!.
I've read that the SKY provided HDMI cable is not of a particularly high quality and that the picture quality could be improved by a better one - is this right and, if so, what make should I go for? Thanx.
Yes, it's an excellent read. I would also recommend like minded readers to try any of Charlie Connelly's football books which are great. A nice blend of fact and good humour.
Hi. I would be grateful if someone could advise me what size of dish I would need to have in central Portugal to pick up channels on 28.2E (Sky etc). At present I have an 85cm dish and would take it if I thought it might do the trick otherwise I will leave it here when I sell the house next...
