For Echostar 3000 users

A good 36V motor will drive heavier dishes than Disecq ones.

Providing you Echostar is still working fine, no reason to swap for another STB. If you do get a more up-to-date box, just use the Echostar for driving your dish.

I have just bought a full motorised system from ebay for my brother and sent it straight to him in the Isle of Man I will be fitting it in 3 weeks
it's a 3,600 is it much better than the 3,000 ?

Haven't used one myself. It's just a later version of the 3000, has a different menu system.

ANY WHO HAS PROBLEMS ADDING TRANSPONDERS

if u get the problem wheen u goto add transponder then u put all the info in and press ok but nothing happens do this:

Goto the Edit menu
Edit Transponder
Delete any empty Transpoders by press red twice on the empty ones
Press blue
Add the Transpoder that u wanna add.

DONE!

I am thinking of updating my software from 1000 to 1100
1. Is it worth it, is it any better/faster?
2. How do you do it from Hotbird and as with a null modem will it wipe out all my settings ie channels & dish East & West limits?

Channel switcing is a little faster, but this not significant when clearing some encrypted channels with a cam, as this depends upon how fast e.g the Diablo will open them.

No OTA updates now for the AD3000.

anyone know where i could get my hands on a circuit diagram for an AD3000ip via embbeded . i ve put the motor wire in the wrong way . it s now closed down into protection mode i presume . i know this STB is origanaly of handan of koria design . any help would be of help thanks in advance ......

It shouldn't matter if you have just reversed the motor wires, only that the dish will move in the wrong direction.

"Channel switching a little faster" I think this would be irelavant as the diablo is slow at swapping packages anyway. I think I will stay on 1000 then as if I use a null modem I will loose all the data and I see no benefits from it then....

Ok Now Im Confused I Have The Ecostar Ad-3000ip Got It Of My Brother In Law For The Footy But It Would Seem Just By Surfing There Are Lots More It Can Do I Have A Few Cams He Threw In With It Includind Dragon Cam And Loader Card So What To Do Im A Noob So Be Gentle

Welcome to the forum bigbow.

You'll need a programmer for loading your Dragon cam.

Recommended devices are the Duolabs CAS 2+ or 3 or the Infinity USB Phoenix.

With the Dragon loaded with the latest Predator file (and latest key updates) you will have a good selection of open channels.

just a quicky had my dish alligned by a supposed pro and my siganl strenght is about 50% as is my other one forget the name of it at the mo but he said my arm was loose on my dish wich holds the lnb would this affect the quality of the signal strength if so any options i can do bear in mind im a noob to the sat seen so plain english please if a new dish is required then which one thanks for you suggestions:-worship

I have a Fibo 90 dish and I am wiring it to an echostar 3000 stb which normall uses 4 wires on my triax with a silent h-h motor :
m1
m2
m pulse
gnd

for some reason the fibo has :
+ which I think is m1
- which I think is m2

but then it has :
T
U
+5v

anyone know how I wire this with only 4 wires?

You need an extra wire for the +5V hall effect switch in the Fibo motor.

If you only want to use 4 wires, you would need to convert the motor to use a reed sw. Not to difficult to do, even I did it.

Don't know how to link to it , but in 'Fibo owners forum' under Fibo motor pulse mods (feb 07 ) there is more info and pics, have a look at those first, any questions or help just ask
