First 'proper' frost of the Autumn last night, but beautiful blue skies this morning. I think I may have the Rayburn running a tad warm though..Rayburn dial.JPG

Replaced part of the flue this summer (with stainless steel) and swept the existing parts....

Twinwall or just single-skin? The former is better as it stays hotter internally preventing sooting and creosoting, especially useful for use with woodstoves... :)

Just single skin....two 45 degree angles and a short bit of 'flexible' to link them....(twinwall was a tad too expensive). Joined it onto the existing stainless steel roof flue pipe and the outlet from the Rayburn. It's the part that passes through the 'cubby hole' or loft/void space above my kitchen. It's quite short and easy to clean....

Flipping windy down here on the coast today, looks like it's going to pee down soon as well. Completely scuppered my work plans today! . . . . . Oh well, I guess I could go down the pub for a beer after lunch! :D

We have had the farm bonfire tonight - its been a gorgeous night despite last nights dreadful weather forecast. Totally still, bright moonlight bathing the field, a few stars visible, and a ride on a trailer across the farm which is always great fun :D

Rain all day here, and lots of flood warnings, on the radio, mentioning various traffic problems, generally our usual Autumn !!!!!
I still think it's quite mild, and don't expect the really cold weather until late December, into January, February and March, if similar to last year.

As its been looking grim outside weather wise, i’ve got my dish working again.

My receiver had broken and l’d lost interest for a while, so ive reconnected my trusty tm 1500 and its been moving the dish nicely and ive a skybox f5s for any hd stuff.

Only got a few sats stored 39,28,19,13,1w,5w but ive got a list on my pc with the sat position counts so it won’t take long to add the rest later.

What has everyone else been up to?

More than a tad windy here with some spots of rain. Just been out tinkering with 42E which is part of the set up on the TD88. Other than that I have some recycling to take into the village (collecting some more peasants for the fire whilst there), keeping an eye on the Rayburn and watching the F1 qualifying later...

Oh deary me: What are we to make of this?

The Met.Office is predicting wet, windy and relatively mild weather over the next three months.

This can only mean it is going to be bitterly cold and that drought conditions will be upon us.

Very heavy winter berry crops already in evidence bear this out.

Several days of autumnal mists here - all very dank, and it doesnt get light properly :(

However tree sparrows have appeared in the garden the, so its been great fun watching them on the feeders. Not common round here but they are fearless little birds quite happy hustling others off the feeders
