i am waiting eagerly to know the result and comparing ( CM vs DH )

we never had a chance to try any CM dish but we allready try some 20 years old 2.4 DH

DH 2.4 get better result compare to 2.1 PF local dish with same lnb ( black ultra with matched feed similer to invacom feed

i do not know - but i believe that CM and europian dishes has better quialty than the american one

CM 2.4 is a flat offset - while the DH 2.4 is a much deeper PF ( F/D = 0.38 )
Hi mosllam, I wont be doing comparison tests but the DH has the edge on the channel master, it has more gain and being prime focus less ground noise, this obviously gives you more signal,

To get the best out of any quality dish you need to use matched feed and LNB, sticking any LNB on a quality dish will give poor results compared to a good quality PLL LNB,

As you will know the PLL cost good money, you need time and patience setting them up, but once fine tuned your dish will shine.

You don't want to buy a channel master 2.4 to help me pay for them John :D

... Thought about it at one time Blade lol, but i miss my 2.2 PF Precision a bit. Think if i go back to PF this summer i'll be on the prowl for another 2.2 reflector only, no arms / no mount etc, just a reflector.

Hi John I don't blame you much easier to handle something about the look of them, might be worth getting a quote from Elite no paint no arms just bare dish should be quite cheap ?

Agreed, you know what it's like though .... you have to go the 1.8 off-set route just to satisfy your own curiosity first. Spent a lot of time & effort on my 1.8 and really pleased with the results but if i keep having these urges to return to the PF side, especially if we have a nice early sunny start to the summer lol.
I'll put a feeler out to Elite next week & see what their response is ....

Yes your right John we have to try things and our pockets only stretch so far, if this wouldn't have turned up I would have installed the channel master spent lots of time and money on the mount and was looking forward to install, but no brainer what's going to stay now I have this,

Very pleased how its handled the wind over the last few days solid as a rock minute movement in the strongest of wind, please keep us informed on the Elite.

If you get the opportuntity with your 2.4m DH antenna could you please see if you can get a lock on any 8PSK modulation signals in C Band from 68.5E?

Thx

aceb,

Sorry, I do not have the full price list, I only have the price for the 2.2m kit. If I recall correctly though, the 2.4m antenna was around £250 more.

I am not sure if it is the 2.2m or the 2.4m where the rear mounting ring jumps up to the 1200mm diameter version. It might be that the 2.2m and 2.4m come with an option of a 600mm ring or a 1200mm ring but above 2.4m the mounting ring is 1200mm. The price I listed was for the 2.2m antenna with the 600mm mounting ring. I am not sure if the 1200mm mounting ring adds to the price.

Will do moonbase its a satellite I have my eye on anyhow,

I have an extra brand new rear mounting ring for the DH made to fit on the new H to H that would be compatible with Elite, I would imagine the ring is extra money ? more work involved making and fixing it, I might be tempted myself in the near future would only need a bare dish

Ta for that MB, can't believe that when i bought my last one from Precision complete with back ring/painted/support arms/ feed/ heavy galvanised "A" frame mount/ crated up -- approx 10yrs ago for the grand total sum of around £875 ish.

Was your prices from a trade enquiry MB and roughly how old are your quoted prices.
I think i will still do a business enquiry with them to get a response, but thanks for the heads up.

I am not sure if Elite sell just the bare antenna without a mounting ring?

John,

It was a personal enquiry, non trade. I received the quote 15 months ago in November 2015 so there is a fair chance the prices will have increased since then.

I don't know but cant see why not, if/when I do decide to buy one the ring would be no good to me, I would only be interested in a 1,8, I will send them a email as well,
