My pleasure :), I made a mistake with 11727 its on the SSA beam not the Russian as stated, still a hard catch though and locked in on STB:).

Well done Martin. I suspect that I'll see zero from the Russian beam here but may have more luck with SSA being further south.

Its a bit strange here 11727 is just as hard to lock than 12092, I will try the circular lnd again when I get the chance.

Ive not persevered Steve because I no I wont lock them with my 1.2 but I did get a sniff from 12092 just moved to 3%. 1.8 is the minimum for these at our location for a lock.

Thanks for the pics Martin ..
Excellent job mate ..
I gave up trying on this but am still interested to see what others manage to get..
12092R is a total mystery to me ..and is easily the weakest RHCP transponder at my location ...most of the time not even a hint of 'NO-Locked'

A while back, I've been speaking to a chap on this forum (Frank/Sergey), living in Denmark. He tested a number of circular LNBs for receiving 36E Russian beam and he found that his home made depolariser plate stuck inside a linear LNB worked better than a store-bought circular one.

The plate has to be thinner than in C - something like an old credit card should do. Something to try...

I took the cap of the C lnb the other day, it would be easy to swap the plate, is the plate cut to the same size Alex do we know, can you get any pictures pal ?.

That was my hope the other night - with the 1.8 alcoa ... post #91
and although it pushed up the db level to 6.0 0n 12129 it wasn,t enough to lcck
a plate made from an old cassette tape box worked better than a credit card one on that setup .....

I too have had slightly better results with an inverto linear Ku ..with a polythene plate borrowed from a DirecTV Eagle Aspen LNB ..
The plate is thinner but not credit card thin ..and specifically designed for use in the upper ku band.
The results were promising but still insufficient for lock on any of the Russki circular beams.
As said already ..
minimum dish size imo is 1.8 ..
certainly at my location.

I've just put the C back on, if i scan 12092 12244 scans in, also using 10750 lnb setting it wont lock it, 9750/10600 is fine and 10600, certainly getting better results with a normal lnb, i will try a plate in a normal one :).
