So then night owls, has there been any overnight transponder moves? I've checked the two main contenders of 12402V (ITV) and 12422H (C5) but signal-wise both still appear to be on Astra 2A.

It's probably still got its tin hat on following last nights major CME.

A coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth's magnetic field on Oct. 24th around 1800 UTC. The impact strongly compressed our planet's magnetosphere and may have exposed geosynchronous satellites to solar wind plasma. Mild to moderate geomagnetic storms are possible in the hours ahead as Earth's magnetic field continues to reverberate from the hit.

I'm not detecting anything here with the spectrum analyzer at the office. Even though I cannot get a lock with this 1m Gibertini dish, 2D is clearly visible in the spectrum.

Those two carriers on 11.053 and 11.127 are still there like they have been for the last 30 hours. No change in shape or strength.

No signal changes here either. I still get all the channels. My Technisat receiver is of course not as finely tuned and sensitive as that CrazyScan software, but I can't see any changes... no news from SES either, but who are we kidding...

First post here. Do we think that there will be a move of all channels including Skys onto the new satellite or do we think that Sky will hold on as long as possible before it makes the leap?

It doesn't really matter. Most of Sky's channels are currently on the pan-European beams and even if switching satellites they would probably remain that way.

Conax-encrypted Real Digital package could be coming to Astra 1N. I wonder.

Your guess is as good as ours. So far we only know that 4 of the 1N "2C band" frequencies have been contracted.

And if you are hoping for dozens of new channels to suddenly appear in the clear its not going to happen in the short-term.

Yes, I know .............. it was merely a tongue in cheek reference to the "now you see it, now you don't nature" of the venture :)

Are you sure you lot are not chasing shadows? That bump at around 11125V is on a Youtube video I made 7 months ago (using my 1.5m dish).

Because the technology way back when didn't fully encapsulate the idea ............ and I also suspect some of the issues that have arisen since were not fully anticipated at the design/implementation phase.

those two bumps have been there only since Monday morning. I scanned the range during the whole weekend, and there was nothing there. no signal whatsoever.
