The client has managed to update the V7 to the latest firmware (which is something to be celebrated, it took almost an hour on the phone to achieve).
On some HD channels - 19East German, there is a set of flickering red lines near the top of the picture, no way of getting rid of them.
Additionally the box still doesn't do DiSEqC 1.3 despite everything upstairs being compatible, and on 1.2 there is still the repeated 'dish moving' message.
I will be sent some images to confirm this and other problems over the weekend. I have confirmation once again that swopping back to the Venture receiver and everything is fine.
The Freesat V7 is a time-wasting joke.
Hi Channel hooper, there's nothing wrong with the box, I would recommend looking in yellow pages and finding a local competent satellite installer, they will have it up and running in minuets, as mentioned previously this is not a box for a novice to play with, leave it to the professionals.
I am happy with VU+ satellite receivers (Enigma 2) and recently I bought Mutant HD51 4K because I needed a CI+ support to a subscription card that I have and it works OK with OpenATV image.I will be purchasing a new receiver as well as new Laminas Dish in the next month or so.
Would TM-5402MK3 be the best buy, or does it suffer fake 45000 channels like the
Technomate I had about 10 or 12 years ago, or is it too old now.
Tuner sensitivity is important as I am a feed junky so blind scan is important also,
how would this receiver compare to my Clarke-Tech 5100C.
Octogan 4008 is an option also, (but no blind scan) as it is supposed to be very sensitive
and I will have to learn how to use a Linux receiver.
Suggestions/Advice on other receivers welcome.
Thanks as always folks
The Rascals
I am going to get a TBS6908 for now, so I can play with some of the different modes
that my Clarke-tech does not see.
I think it also receives DVB-S2X plus c-band
