You better not change this bolt. Firs of all scale will be lost, and secondly there is imperial thread..... not easy to find such a bolt in INOX (if possible at all). Existing one looks good enough.

i made a copy of the scale on a piece of plastic which i hold against the bolt to set the position, bit like a ruler.

Of course it is possible to grind-off or do milling on the machine part of the bolt and then glue new scale to it. But, at the end of the day, this scale is useless for installation IMHO.

i use it as a starting point, going on to fine tune later.

Some time ago I've found source for CM polar-mounts (it was quite limited). Sent them all, except one to other lucky SAT-hobbyists. Jut now wanted to see how new bolt with scale on it look like, but then decided to keep box originally sealed and placed it back to shelve. I also have brand new CM120 with feedarms and new plastic LNB-holder. So, one day I will install that set.......not today.

That box picture is actually very useful, I now have the model number for the polarmount, so I can find the original manual

Lidl and Aldi Good quality food/stuff and a decent price. And always a life saver abroad as they stock
the same stuff as the UK.
