No, it was the petrol can and matches that gave me away. A farmer did stop me on the way out however, and offer to do the job properly the next time they have a protest.

Actually Tivù I can't complain about the car, it was given to us by friends returning to the UK. Yes I know, 'they were glad to get rid of it'!

With the rough state of many rural French roads I would say that was a stoke of luck - you won't be worrying too much about tanking it. O-Ha

Even Hamilton wouldn't go belting around those roads. Though he would blame everyone else if he managed to end up upside down in a pond. O-no

Well this early in the season it does not make a lot of difference bottom or top, I have jumped from 10th to 2nd but I am sure that I could be back mid table after next weekend.

Hot from F1.com

Defending world champion Jenson Button clinched his first victory of 2010 - and his first for McLaren - in Australia on Sunday. An excellent call on tyre strategy - and a mechanical failure for pole-sitter Sebastian Vettel - gave him the edge in the dry-wet Melbourne race. Robert Kubica took second for Renault, ahead of the Ferraris of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso...

Well in this case instead of RTFM

We should have RTFR, did you not bother reading them Mr M?

The real season opener in Melbourne reminded us why we love Formula 1, with more overtaking than you can shake a stick at! Jenson Button took victory with an inspired tactical decision, moving on to intermediates from wets in the early stages before everyone else followed suit. McLaren team mate Lewis Hamilton didn't have a great weekend despite his best efforts - a summons to court, out in Q2 in quali and then, after fighting his way through the field and all so nearly overtaking Alonso two laps from the end, only for Mark Webber to take him out. LH was not amused, and he blamed his team for a two stop strategy that no one else tried!!! And finally, pole sitter Sebastian Vettel appears to be driving an unrelibale Red Bull, as brake failure consigned him to a DNF. Kubica took 2nd, Massa in 3rd.

sonnetpete's position at the top was short lived, as Equipe fell to 7th and are replaced in 1st by a SupaLiga star of old. kreacher had the most incredible race weekend, certainly amongst the best in SL history - taking full bonus guess points in qualifying, a point for best lap time, and scoring no less than 11pts for all components. Creatures' 94pts in total means they were 3rd overall in Australia across PFF1, and reside in 58th in the World Championship. This is the first time kreacher's been in 1st - his highest placing was finishing 2nd in 2007.

Topper has gone up to 2nd place with the Tossers, and his 90pt score was 14th overall - keep on tossing! Coincidentially, the 2007 season also witnessed Topper's best yet, going up to 2nd for one race (Turkey).

Now in 3rd, the last PFF1 Cup place, is bite's Supakomanda. The Latvian had a consistent debut season in 2009, featuring in the top 10 almost throughout and finishing in 8th, and will now be hoping to go up a gear this term.

B16MCC and Dreambox F1 fell a place to 4th, just in front of my Dynamos. Still, that's better than the mighty fall kleefarr has suffered - Honda-Williams went from 2nd to 14th. Champions F1 Aberdeen fell to 11th, but Norm's reserve team started with 52pts and is already hunting down chris' Peak Racing.

Norm's F1 SupaAberdeen in the Champions League: Current status - 50th ~ 118pts ~ DROPOUT ZONE
Salty25's Supa-Dynamo in the PFF1 Cup: Current status - 84th ~ 122pts ~ DROPOUT ZONE
Dazdazdazzy's SupaBTTR in the PFF1 Cup: Current status - 69th ~ 127pts ~ DROPOUT ZONE

NEXT RACE > MALAYSIAN GP @ KUALA LUMPUR > APRIL 4

Ah not perhaps the slip you thought! Before we bid a fond farewell to Australia, Salty has reminded us of an old Aussie drinking game, akin to stuffing ferrets down trousers. Participants are required to hide as many small furry indigenous animals about their person as possible. Hence it's known as the "Koala Lump Up"
