Mrminibus - yes the 3000's are good receivers and we will try and help if you get stuck.

Referring back to the earlier posts, research suggests the "debug" option is a dragon specific thing

Ive bee seduced into ordering a dragon today. They assure me it will be here probably tomorrow. :D Plenty of questions coming up in the dragon dedicated forum come the weekend!!

Mines the dark one too - although it seems to be a bit of a hybrid. Its got the styling of the 3600, and the innards of the 3000! The attachment shows the front panel arrangement of mine.

Setting the disecq switching up the first time was an interesting experience. Many swear words said until I realised I needed to change the settings in two menus!

T0 - Analoguesat

I have Echostar - AD-3000 IP Viaccess the same one you have
The Unit info.
Software version ESVCIAP 1000
the above software version is the latest version at

http://www.echostar-int.com downloaded from satellite ( OTA )

After upgrading my rceiver with above latest version " ESVCIAP 1000 "

I have a problem with the receiver when I input new Transponder frequency as follows :-

From Main Menu --> select # 5 Edit
Then from Edit sub-menu ---> select # 3 Edit Transponder
From Edit Transponder - sub-nenu ---> In this sub-menu on the Left
the list of the transponders frequencies - For example I have only four
transponders frequencies in the satellite " ExpressAir " When I try to Input new transponder frequency by prssing the blue button " Add TP " and inputting the frequency , the polarity , the sybol rate and FEC THEN
press the blue button " Scan " the receiver does not sacn for the new transponder frequency . In order to scan for a new transponder frequency
I have to delete one of the exisiting frequencies in the satellite frequencies list , Then the receiver will scan for the new transponder frequency . Before upgrading I can input many transponders frequencie as I like . So Do you know what seem to be the problem coming from ?

Best Regards

Have you tried the other way

Menu 6 6 1?

It seems to take you to the same screen.

I suppose the other possibility is that the receiver memory is full. Try deleting a few transponders from satellites you are never going to use to see if this is a problem.

I have never had the problem you describe although my satellite lists got well scrambled over Christmas, and I had to reload everything into it.....

I have tried to update my software version this week, and version 800 appears to be latest one being transmitted of 13E - I just got the error message anyway.

I bought my receiver from ebay about a year and a half ago, and it had 901 software on it. I've never updated it as it seems to work fine as it is.

Thank you very much for your reply

Reference to your comments
1 - the receiver memory is not full , because according to the receiver
user manual the receiver can programmed up to 50 satellites with
999 transponders .
2 - My receiver has 42 satellites with 762 Transponders

3 - Still I have 8 staellites with 237 Transponders vacant .

Therefore still there are vacancy in the memory of the receiver .

What is your comment ?

Regarding to the latest version " version 1000 " is the latest one which was released on Nov. 23, 2003 for Echostar - AD-3000 IP Viaccess and nothing comes after that since .

Best Regards

You need to press OK twice before scanning. I mention this because you emphasied 'THEN press the blue button'.
Although you must have done this before or you couldn't have been able to scan any TP's previously.
Just a thought...

Thank you very much for your respond

Normally when I input any new frequeny and this frequency is actuall is working as soon as I input the frequency , the polariy, symbl rate and FEC
immeadiatly the signal comes all the way across horizonatl bar that is mean this frequency is working then I press The blue button " Scan "
then the receiver start scanning this frequency and all channels comes .
Actually what is happning now which is my problem that when I inut the new frequency with its parameters above No signal at all comes across
the signal bar if this frequency is not exisits or not working But in fact this frequency is actually is working . And even if I press the blue button
" Scan " the receiver will start scanning but no channels will come, because no signal appears on the signal hrizontal bar . But if I go and delete one of the exisiting frequencies in the list of the satallite I am working with and come back and input the new frequency then the signal comes across signal bar the the receiver starts scanning and all new channels appears . Doing this way I loosing all the channels of the frequency I already deleted when I replace it with new frequency .
This is my problem I hope I make it clear to understand my proble .
waiting your comments Note : Still 237 transponders vacant

As Analoguesat has mentioned, could be an eeprom corruption problem.
May need replacing.

How many of you are using Echostar 3000's??
Ive got a AD-30000 IP Viaccess model, which is nice bit of kit..

Thought it might be an idea to start a thread for us to swap tips and info on how to get the most out of these receivers.

Hi,

Sounds like a great idea to me. Let me explain. All I had two weeks ago was 2 separate Sky systems until one of my dishes blew down. (the bracket had literally rusted away). To find a new bracket I visited a few websites including Ebay (and one in Selkirk which specialises in analogue systems).

The result is I reconnected my old analogue dish at 19.2E (now an anchor point for my mature Wisteria), anyway I played with that using the old analogue receiver out of the cellar. Then connected the 19.2E dish to my Digibox having learnt how to do this a few minutes earlier. Next job was to suggest to neighbours who have Sky+ that they don't need their "old" minidish - thereby liberating the bracket to fix my minidish back up and obtain an additional dish. Fixed my old minidish. Then fixed my "new" minidish liberated from next door to redundant camera tripod pointing through study window to try and find 13E and 16E using analogue receiver - with no luck...

...at this point I realised I had a new obsession/hobby/ diversion strategy and 2 days ago after some research I bought an Echostar AP 3000IP which I hope will be delivered tomorrow.

So in response to your initial question I must say "Yes" a thread for this piece of kit would be fine and dandy.

And that is my first post out of the way

Thanks to all the contributors for all the help I've already received.

With all those dishes you are going to need a disecq switch. Setting them up is easy enough, but you need to change 2 seperate pages in the menus.

For the analogue stuff, you need to visit

www.analoguesat.co.uk!

Wonder who runs that one? :D

PS welcome to the forum.

I don't know who runs the www.analoguesat.co.uk! site, but the clues are there and if it wasn't for the guy who does run it I'd now be getting on with other stuff (but less interesting!) I agree with needing the switch. Quick question - should I be able to get the 16E and / or 13E signals using my 3rd (Aaaah!) minidish?

Also have you seen that recent post (a couple of hours ago ) saying that the AD3000IP is "slow and painful?

Thanks for the welcome

Its me! Theres a pic on the site if your wondering who the looney behind the site is - look at "webmaster" down the bottom of the index frame.

Yes you should get 13E on a minidish - just about, 16E is probably a bit weak in analogue.

This page

http://www.selkirkshire.demon.co.uk/analoguesat/2004news.html

has results of my experiments with a zone 1 dish last summer - check out May-June entries.

Disecq switches are reasonably cheap.

I know it was you really...and you know that I know... that you know...ad infinitum...

Once again thank you for the help. Hopefully the Echostar comes tomorrow...

Fyldeman - if you have 3 minidishes, you really need something with a bit more signal collection capabilities to make the most of the weaker birds. An 80cm dish will pay dividends if you have somewhere to put it. You can even put 3 lnbs on it for 13 / 19 / 28E!
