Major Catastrophe ...

hopefully tomorrow it wont rain ..as it did today ..
Seriously bloody cold here considering it's 1st of August..
Anyhoo ..
fixed what I consider to be yet another design flaw ..
This time on the pole bracket ..
Having lifted the whole dish and motor up the pole about 1cm this morning and fitted a new top plate..to the pole..using a huge car jack.
......mine was rusting..
(Very much needed but _not_ the fix.)
I set about fitting what I guess are stabilizer bolts in the side of the pole bracket,,,
with these I can adjust the bracket/motor atop the pole for absolute vertical ..
Too much play at the E/W extremes which simple pole clamping is inadequate..
Thus ..without the stabilizer bolts the weight of the dish makes the clamp bracket 'wobble' a few mm..
Not any more it doesn't

Another very long day leaving me knackered ..
but I'm sure I'm close to sorting my arc now ..
These are a few Test points along the way ..which I hope someone can provide comparison signals for on a similar sized dish ..
beyond 42E Im clipping the troublesome tree so not expecting the same db levels say at 45E
Have the European amazonas transponders out at extreme West ceased ??
any infos ..much appreciated..

those were the ones ..
Guess I'll have to use the data transponders from sats beyond 61W to fully test my arc..

OK pal what stb do you have, its pointless me telling you the signal from the one I am using atm the 1.2 wont take it past 6,9db I have a tm 6900 skybox f3 do you have similar Evan ?

No stbs in the system atm ..
I was using the TBS card ..
though db levels with the card are very similar to those displayed on an F15..

Its just pointless with this box Evan like I say its not very generous with signals I would not get near some of the signals you've recorded with the 1.8. unsure if @nelson_b uses a card and would help.

Out of interest have you measured the pulses/clicks per degree from the elevation actuator?

No I haven't Dave ..but I would assume roughly 10 clicks per degree of shift ..much like as if the actuator was driving E/W

Logged in 99% of ku satellite positions visible to me on the Gbox ..from 63W to 45E ..
Struggling to see further East ..
Hints of signal from Azerspace at 46 E (Ukrkosmos) 10999v ..but insufficient even for a 'NO Locked' on the TBS Card ..
I'll have to wait until the leaves fall for this one ...but have never gone beyond a partial lock at 53E with Carl anyway..
Safe to say I'm tracking the arc reasonably well atm.
...it isn't helping that it is raining YET AGAIN ..
and damned cold again ..
had to put a jumper on this morning ..

53E is a pointless satellite these days - very little is broadcast there that's receivable in UK. Try 55E instead. Should be past the tree(?) and has relatively strong signals on there.

The tree isn't really an issue beyond say 55 degrees ..but sadly I then have a brick wall to contend with ..
As said previously ..
never had anything beyond 53E with Carl ..
Even in winter..
