My Satellite Setup
LNB, Dish, Motor, Cable, Receivers all taken down and donated to a newbie.
My Location
London
40 east, 11605H/29615, 11667H/29615, 11667V/29615, good strong signals here, same two programmes on each transponder. Cannot see anything on 11044V though.

regards Redmund

PS Whoops, just realised AM22 is at 53east not 40 east.
1 Ch Vsemir and RTE Planeta are the two programmes being transmitted (fta) on the above 3 transponders on the satellite at 40 degrees east.
Redmund.

RTVi, Detski Mir, and Nasho Kino have moved on Hotbird to 11013H 27500.

New (I think) on Sirius is TV Centr International which is a Russian general entertainment channel broadcast in Russian and is FTA.
12073H 27500 3/4.

I know this channel has been around for sometime now but we have always ignored it because it was a religious program, and whilst it is alright for my wife to preach to me, no one can preach to her (only joking).
She started watching TBN-Russia on Hotbird and says that although there are some times that deal with religion, there are also periods which show films, general entertainment and many interesting shows, well worth checking out.

TBN-Russia is on Hotbird 11566H, 27500, 3/4, and is FTA.

New Russian channel due to start soon on Hotbird 13 east called "Russia Today".
It's a news program that will be FTA, it's on 10971H, 27500, 3/4.
Can't say yet as too when it will start, but at the moment they have a test card up.
It is possible that this channel might broadcast in English, we will have to wait and see.

Just been looking to see what is currently available on Hotbird for Russian TV, found RT (Russia Today) test transmission 10971 H, anyone know what this is about and whether it will be FTA?

Looks like the RTVi package on hotbird is moving to Via 2.5 soon. They're sending out new smart cards.

I can't watch any of these news channels. The newsreader's presentation is so artificial. They all do exactly the same things. The blonde newsreader on at the moment. You can tell when she is going to move forward, move backward, turn her head, give a sharp nod at the end of a sentence, pout her lips when she finishes a news item.
Wooden puppets would be more realistic.

Awful.

Finally Russia Today started at 1pm today.
It's FTA and broadcast in English. It will include news, sport, entertainment, business, documentaries, press reviews, and weather etc.
It's a bit like BBC World come Euronews, but look out for the presenters, pictures below.

Bloody hell MBK give it a chance, it's only been on for twenty minutes. All these presenters are new (remember Moira Stewart) give them a chance, you are one hard man to please. Remember it is free, your not being asked to pay.
I like it as it gives me and my wife a chance to both hear and understand Russian news, and a good chance to see all those sexy presenters.

Russia Today went off the air yesterday (Sunday 11th Dec) and it still appears to be off, with only the test card showing.
Has anyone heard anything.
I have been on their web-site but all they say is "open on 20th Dec", if that means the web-site or the TV channel I don't know yet.
Will e-mail them and see if I get a reply.

Seems strange that a computer virus could down the studio transmissions, I can understand it affecting the autocue system yes the subtitling or the ticker-tape but the transmissions I find that difficult to understand. :-googly

After re-patching my receiver and doing a factory re-set I have hit major problems.
To cut a long story short have gone back to my old patch and am now able to tune in sats (Express AM, Turksat, Hispasat) but I am having big problems getting the Russian channels that I used to have before.

On Sirius I cannot get anything Russian or Ukrainian, I can get lots of other channels on Sirius. Have tried the PID search, advance search but I can't even pick up a signal as you can see from picture below.
There should at least be two small red indicators for Level and Quality, but not even that, and at best the yellow and blue lines as seen a second picture, that's if I can transfer it.

Could only transfer second picture, but in the first one there were no indicator lines at all (blue, yellow, or red)
