Forget about feeds for the moment Might be worth confirming what satellites you are able to receive across the arc from east to west and give an example of signal quality for each.

Are you certain your dish is not damaged or warped in some way. I notice you say it is ground mounted. Any chance you could be encountering obstructions or possibly third party interference with it being mounted so low.

not iceland no, Norfolk, UK, according to a manual for my motor i have to set My Declination Angle: "set it by screw b & The scale on the upper mounting plate", so i have to move plate down abit to 7.5, the only thing is the plate goes from 0-8 aka 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 so there isnt a 7.5 option on there see pic > c1e5fcd8 d82f 446a a303 dbef14a3a7b2 — Postimages any ideas??

Buy a cheap digital inclinometer, one of them will allow you to adjust your declination angle in tenths of a degree.

With respect to your comments about the forum loading very slowly, I have no problems at all using a desktop or a laptop PC, pages load almost instantly.

Forum pages loading slow is an issue on your side, it is not from the forum hosting server side.

Agreed MB. His pole needs to be dead vertical, elevation of the motor needs to be around 52 degrees, needs to find due south, with the motor set at 0 degrees azimuth, find Thor, then the offset angle of the dish will take care of itself when Thor is located. The whole assembly then needs moving a fraction to the East not using the motor though. Tighten up, check the rest of the arc now using the motor East and West and fine tune. Let's see some pictures of the setup perhaps??

So, 7.53 degree declination offset angle for Norfolk, lat=52.6, would be the "traditional" angle.

For the better, "modified" angle, I would nowadays use a forward axis tilt of 0.55 degree (0-horizon fit) for Norfolk, so resulting in:
Axis elevation angle = 90 - 52.6 - 0.55 = about 36.85 degree;
and declination offset = 7.53 - 0.55 = about 7.0 degree.

I'd say the present setting in the picture is about 8.2 degrees.
I'd set the declination offset angle first, and then finetune on the axis elevation.
However in another topic about your setup, I believe moonbase suggested to set the proper angles by first setting declination to zero, then finetuning angle on the due south sat, then setting declination at the proper angle (7.0), and then setting/finetuning the axis elevation. This was because the axis elevation of some motors is hard to determine, with an inclinometer.

For finetuning I use these drawings: http://jackysat.atspace.com/obrazy/max/korekcija.gif
Start with C and D, and only when that is OK, check A and B. And then repeat these steps.

Can anyone of u help me set my declination correct on my motor please i think it might be off it can only be set between 0 & 8 as u can see from the previous pic my location is norfolk uk
You have a 36v motor, and there are other threads, on the forum, showing how to set up a motorized dish, using a 36v motor.

The basics, for all motorized dishes, is to first ensure you mount is solid, and strong enough to hold the weight, of the dish, and motor, and is perfectly plumb.
If your dish is ground mounted, then it makes it a lot easier.
I personally use something similar to this:
3inch1mstand01lg.jpg

As you can see you have the option of adjusting the nuts, to get it as plumb, as possible, and you need to have a flat, sturdy, base, so that the gound isn't causing problems.

Next you need to find out your exact Longitude, as this is your True south, an easy way of doing this is to use dishpointer.com, type in your postcode, and zoom in, on the map, moving the icon to your house, and where the dish is sited. You can also use the obstacle checker, to see if you have a clean line of sight, to various satellites, by selecting different satellites, in the drop down box.

Your Longitude is important, as negative Longitude readings = West, positive = East.

For example, if your longitude was - 1.23, , that would equate to 1.23 degrees West, and mean setting up on 1 west would be close enough, but if your Longitude is 1.23, that's 1.23 East, so to align your dish, to 1W, and have 0, on your motor, pointing to 1.23 East, you need to move your motor, about 2 degrees West, then align your dish to 1 West, to have 0, on your motor pointing at about 1 East, your longitudal position.

Once that's done it's a matter of trial, and error, making minor adjustments, to track the satellite arc, by sending your motor to your furthese East satellite, that's available, like 52E, and West, usually 30 West, using your receiver, and the menu options, to find the strongest signal quality readings.
Note them down, then send your dish back to 1 West, to make any adjustments.

If you post your signal quality readings, on the forum, other members can help you interpret the readings.

Im confused with all this talk, yes my dish is ground mounted to a pole that has a square base attached which is sitting on a concrete base aswell, my 1.2m cm dish is attached to the motor which is attached to the pole, its perfectly plumb, etc i just think it could be my decinclination angle thats the issue as according to dishpointer.com it should be set to 7.8 but its currently set to 8 (by looks of it), i just throught it was correct the way it is due to being able to get channels and feeds on 28.2e and 23.5e (sometimes), no my dish isnt broken, warped or damaged etc, im gonna change the deinclination angle to 0 first then change to 7.5 to see if that helps with my issues finding thor 0.8w but i can only do this when the weather gets better due to it keep raining here (not the issue causing me headaches with feeds etc) and will post here when thats done, with this website im using edge on pc, chrome on pc, and chrome on my pixel 7 pro and all have the same loading issues and on different networks so the website is the issue here as i havnt even got any emails to say all these posts have been posted here!!

I had a Moteck on a CM1.2 Dish some time ago. As it was originally setup for a prime focus dish it was supplied with wedge type plate to compensate for the offset of the offset dish. Then declination was set on the adjustment bracket you showed.
Do you have a plate like below. ?

Move the dish to Thor first!!! Make sure the motor looks like in the picture that Joolz just attached. Set the declination angle at Thor make sure you have max signal, then if ths motor is tracking the arc well, the others E and W satellites should easily come in. Thor is one to set up on as its just about due south, if you start messing around trying to set it up on others you are going to run into all sorts of problems...

Yeh I think the fact you get 28.2e and sometimes 23.5e is just luck, nothing you can fix from inside right now, just need to wait till its better weather and align the whole rig to 0.8w and start from there.

There seems to be a slot (where the bolt goes through) in the metal connecting pieces between top of the adaptor plate, and the part for setting the declination?
This would mean that these connecting pieces give an extra variable declination angle, for matching the offset angle of the dish; and this angle must be set with the proper considerations. If not, the declination offset scale is unusable.

This is really a challenge, when it would be your first motor setup!

@danaddison : You can trust me on the 7.0 degree (modified) declination.
Alas, some charts and some manuals (still) give the 'traditional' motor angles (7.5 in your case), but they just give confusion to people like you....

You don't need the superjack arm, that was designed to locate satellites that were wobbling, out of their correct position, which happened more often, in the bad old days.
Have you used dishpointer.com?
Do you know your correct Longitude position, please post if -, negative, if applicable.
You should also buy a cheap satellite meter, if you haven't got one, and as mentioned, it's best to align your dish/motor, on the satellite nearest your Longitude position, especially when using a 36V motor.

I remember that setup, the declination adjustment on the upper plate was not as good as that found on a Jaeger 1224 motor but it was manageable.

@danaddison
As stated earlier, buy a cheap digital inclinometer and use that to set your declination angle.
This is a really easy system to setup, all that is involved are three angles, all of which can be adjusted to within a tenth of a degree using a digital inclinometer.

1. Pole angle, 90 degree vertical in the East/West plane.
2. Elevation angle, adjusted in two stages, before and after declination angle.
3. Declination angle, set after initial elevation angle is set and before 2nd adjustment to elevation angle.

Your issue is lack of knowledge on the subject.
There are plenty of guides on this forum on how to setup a Jaeger 1224 motorised system and also for a Moteck H180 motorised system.
