rather than the card having problems I think the public networks may be more of an obstacle. If you are only sharing ecms, should be ok

digitalpoggy, if you mean 30 connected to you, then you'll have internal router / LAN issues with so many peers. If you mean 30 people actually watching TV, NO CHANCE ! Not even close. You'll max out at about 8.

it doesn't matter how big the info is you're dreambox will not handle the high number of packet transfers of so many clients. Trust me I've done the research. Beyond about 16-20 you'll start to get trouble. If you want that many use a pc as the server.

anyone know an answer to this because i keep getting answers ranging from 5-35 peers on a sly uk card. I have a 3.4 ghz pentium-d pc with 2gb ram lying in my room gathering dust which i could use as a server

Well if you are stupid enough to advertise on an open forum the fact that you intend to defraud Sky UK then you will probably get what you deserve, why don't you ring them up and tell them or send them an email informing them.

You are asking for an answer which nobody is going to admit to on an open forum

The amont of peers connected at once (and Viewing) is dependent on lots of factors, but if you wish to run a card server with less troubles and upto 1000 peers you will need a debian server, there a other builds of linux out there, but debian is the one with the most info and with cc_shares auto install, you you can build one in less than 1hr

also a point if you own a house a want to share one card around the house and maybe to your holiday home as well sky is not being defrauded at all, sky trys to used a limited service to milk as much cash from everyday viewers as possible buy trying to charge £10 for every extra sky box that you own then tell you you cant take it on holiday with you, all i can say is long live CS.

And keep up the good work everyone

cheers

I don't think it will, If you plan to run a CCcam for S£y Uk on your server you can use a pheonix or Smargo+ easy, but the best card reader is an omnikey 3121 usb reader, but it will not run just CCcam on it own it has to be run with newcs.

Surely i couldnt get 1000 peers viewing it!

CS does'nt work like that, the idea behind it is you have access to more channels and so do your peers, if you have that many peers you are running a pay server (not good at all) but yes a Debian can hold and deal with 1000 peers but all peers can't access your local at once, you will burn the card out very quickly.
The most i have see connect at once is 28 peers to one card, that was a clark connect server (adult card).

And anyway why would you want so many peers? the best way to keep your server fast is only share with poeple whos card you need. and dont give more than 1 down hop and 1 reshare, keep your server below 50 peers to keep your ecm @ 180 ish with a smargo+ or better 1.10 ish with an omnicard 3121.

I just bought a DM800HD original box and i tried my White card inside it and it got very very hot touching it after 20 minutes, so i will run it in my Smargo instead.
