but the bands listed are a bit 60's and 70's! comparing Nirvana to Foreigner! aye carumba! ;)

Admin addition

If your favourite band isn't here, don't vote, ask for it to be included. This isn't a definitive list of bands, so unless you would vote for them as your best, don't ask us to include them

As I say mhku, the bands are obviously the bands which people think are the best, if Nirvana was that great, they would have been included, but the simple answer is, nobody asked for them.

PS. The main advantage Nirvana hold over a band like Foreigner, is that the lead singer killed himself, seems to be a sure fire way of gaining cult status, regardless of musical ability. ;)

tbh I just looked at the title of the post and the bands listed. I thought the choice was all of the best bands rather than those members asked for- maybe others didn't see Nirvana so voted for someone else?

I'd rather he hadn't killled himself and made a few more albums rather than spawning an inferior band - Foo Fighters (still enjoyable tho). Nirvana were bloody good live! :)

And how do you get away with your business link in your signature? Do you have it hidden from mods or something? :)

Lots of advertising links working their way into this thread. ;) Can't say I'm surprised really considering the number of views the thread has had in the short time that it's been going. The advertising that I'm doing for this poll must be working. Can I get a cut I wonder. ;)

I have just found this on another site that I'm promoting the poll on..
interesting!

pressman said:
The complete Pink Floyd with Roger Waters will visit Norway next year 2006 having conserts in Oslo and Quart festival in Kristiasand. Six rich business men who like to freak out with music would like to spend 30 million norwegian krones for the happening. Most of all the income after the conserts will be given as a gift to the third world and HIV/AIDS project. That is also one of the reasons for Pink Floyd to acsept the invitation from Norway end the "hippi investor group"in the country. :) For more information, and if you can read norwegian, please check out http://www.ts-avisen.no, or http://www.nbradio.no.

I opted for Queen. The list does show, however, that you lot are quite old (certainly older than me):-lol . Some of the bands I might have suggested are fledglings in comparison to some of your list and probably not worthy, in any way, to be considered greatest ever.

Of course theres nothing I enjoy better than to pump up the volume on the old record player and belt out some serious hymns....the looks on peoples faces as they pass the manse :-wow

U2 Aand other hair metal bands like metallica.. and stuff, cant be compared atall. with the sounds that originated from seattle in the early 90s like soundgarden, screaming trees, mudhoney..
lyrically and musically, they were the most fulfilling of them all....
listen to soundgardens... Badmotorfinger.. and u are on your way to music called " ROCK"... it defines ROCK... and demolishes.. whatever notions we had about all the HAIR BANDS put together...

LONG... LIVE .. GRUNGE.......
