Right well I have had the telly and the receiver on the roof with me and not a sniff. I think the dish must be too small. It is a Televes and is 1m high but only 90cm wide. Unless anyone knows different, I think I am going to have to try to find a 1.2m dish to test. Thanks everyone.

..for an offset dish it's the width that counts. Means, you have a 90cm not a 100cm dish.

I went into the long established, local satellite installer to get a price for a 1.2m dish and he was shocked when I said it was for this Intelsat 907 beam. He said he thought it would need a 1.8m dish but then went on to mention 1.35m. When I told him someone in Tenerife was getting the service 90% of the time with a 1m and 100% of the time with a 1.2m he made a phone call and the person on the other end said he would get back to him. He is going to phone me this week. There can be big differences between the islands. Hopefully soon we will have an answer for Gran Canaria.

1.2m and 1.35m? You're not talking about the same thing are you bearing in mind the Iberian nethod of measuring vertically? It makes it less of a jump up to 1.8m if that's, say, really a 1.5m.

I have just had it set up at our place in Caleta, Fuerteventura. With a 1.2m dish we get 99% signal and 70% quality 24/7.

It is a sod to find and get hold of though. Try finding 30W and then tweak it ever so slightly from there.

One other thing, did you add another TP to the 27.5W on your 5402? You need to put in 11.495 , 44.100 Symbol Rate and V polarity. You should be able to tweak your dish from 30W and find the signal.

Thanks for your information. Yes I manually enter the TP. I can't afford to buy multiple dishes to experiment with so I am going to have to wait until I get a reliable local report for GC before buying any dish.
