As in "chien méchant"? Or could it be a sort of reverse slang where bad is the new good?

Yes, as in 'beware of the dog', I honestly don't think he was into reverse slang, think he was a bit miffed at me despoiling the front of the house...can't think why....

The front of your house looks fine to me. It's a really "wicked" setup.

(Apart from the Penta, that is).

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Thoroughly miserable outside, moreso since I have been attempting to bolt the pulley back on the cars alternator under an umbrella.

Not as bad here as the weather forecast earlier in the week was suggesting. Its just drizzled most of the day, with a handful of snow showers blowing along the valley. However if it goes clear overnight its wet enough that it will be completely evil out tomorrow morning.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Snow fell here during the night, seems to have stuck, ain't much but at least it makes everything look white... :D

And judging by how dark it suddenly just got, I think more is on the way... :confused

Lordy knows what's going on here. Woke up to a downed fence, with a sleety/snowy hail type rain, followed by sunshine and, now, by total misery once again...

Beautiful day here, with small white clouds flecking an otherwise azure sky. But it is quite breezy, as I discovered when I went out to apply a coat of Teak Oil to our Garden Bench.

Yes, it has been a "three large cans of De-Icer" kind of Winter.

Tried that, but it makes it worse in most cases as it just freezes into a thin film across the screen. Pretty exposed where we are.

(And the outside tap is encased in lagging at this time of year to stop that freezing, too!)

Haven't bought a can of de-icer in decades.

I use warm water from the tap (a kettleful will do all the windows on my wife's car, a bit more for mine, both estate cars BTW). If your hand can stand the water temperature it'll be OK for your windows.

The last few days ive been parking the car with the windscreen facing the house, and only the rear window has been icy saves doing anything other than switching the heated rear window on :).

I've occasionally done that, but in taking care not to have it so warm that it risks thermally shocking the screen, it also generally freezes back into a thin film of ice within minutes.

Fortunately, I don't often get to do this chore as SWMBO delivers me a cup of tea in bed before she toddles of to work, ergo at least five days a week I am as snug as a bug in a rug while she sorts her car out.

Biggest cost is her running the engine for several minutes so it's warm inside the cabin when she sets off.

If it were me, I'd simply pop on another T-Shirt and drive straight off!

Ah, yes, the Wipers: The first things to freeze (onto the screen!) and the last to come off. I've wrecked several sets in frustration over the years, wanting to get away when perhaps they are still partly stuck and/or the screen is not fully clear of frost/snow/frogs.

Damn, I knew I'd missed something out of the 'what do you look for in a partner' bit of my dating profile...
