Just looked out the window and there's a good inch (maybe two) outside the house.
Now disappearing fast, though my daughter did get a chance to use her talent before school.IMAG2458.jpg

Lunchtime I was outside freezing my cojones off, standing in the rain & strong wind. With a big grin on my face because for the first time in 46 years we had a train in the middle of town - tracklaying on the new Waverley route had finally reached us!

Good too see the UK rail heritage lines are being opened again.

Will there be a station in your locality?

We have a similar heritage line in the area, much used.

The nearest station will be two miles away. The route will be going north to Edinburgh in the near future, there is some talk of a full reopening of the missing 70 miles through to Carlisle but thats a good few years away yet.

This isnt a heritage line reopening - this is a full part of the network, although there are plans to run steam trains down the line due to the nice rural scenery round here.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Doing a lot better than the Colne to Skipton line back in Lancashire, they're still at the waffling stage, nothing being built yet as far as I know (being 100-odd miles away and all)...

Anyway, light dusting of snow outside, probably will be all gone by midday I'm sure... :-doh

I can't remember which year it was but more than a few; I remember getting the family together from our ancestral home village to go and see the last run of the flying scotsman train. As we only had a crossing in the village it was all over very quick. It was a sight to see and if I remember right they had to move the train then as the rail line was going to be electrified. I've got a pic somewhere not that you would recognise it!!!

that feature does not return here before feb. 10. then it appears 1430cet down a cleft in the mountain for 10 minutes to ssw of my house.
Whether cloudy or clear @1430cet I welcome its return with a glass of exclusive beer, this year will greet it with a glass of real ale "" Hyrrokkin india peated ale from the Ægir brewery ""

Well the sun returned on cue and very welcome too, so gave it a toast with real ale cheers.gif

Thought it was appropriate with the snow thrower included in the snap.

Was a horrible day here yesterday, heavy rain showers and strong winds in the afternoon. This morning we've had rain, sleet and hail showers. Just to remind me Spring is on the way, I have a couple of primroses flowering in the meadow...

It is snowing here.

And I've just had four large glasses of Mulled Wine at our annual village drinkypoos do. Time for an hour's kip, methinks.

Was a lovely morning but now it's clouded over and rain is forecast. Had a visitor this afternoon who had been born in this house, I was rewiring one of the multisat dishes and I mentioned them...he called them 'mechant'....you can look it up...it's not complimentary...and after all the work I put into them too....

As in "chien méchant"? Or could it be a sort of reverse slang where bad is the new good?
