New Lnb changer

@Feedsat_DXer how are you finding your rotator?

nothing special, excepted one thing, I haven't find yet how to make a complete rotation (350°) with a TBS card, it stop at 160°.
do I have to know something to know about this rotator ?

With this "octopus" option I think it was a good choice to install the motor in the back of the antenna, the weight of every toys , items is not too light and A Laminas fiber is not a Channel Master....
I hope you see what I try to explain.

More metalwork. Getting somewhat better results now but with the LNB in the new position, the arms are definitely in the way and are in an unnatural position as no matter how I adjust them, they are still bent. As @Trust1 suggested earlier, I will attach them closer to the motor so they are lower and out of signal's way. Had to extend the LNB holder as well... but getting there.

Yes, yes, but what's going on the Barbie today?

Can you DHL it to me?

Looks really nice.

Hello @ Captain Jack

what is the length of the sides-arms (approximately)? for now I have put that threaded rods but not rigid enough and temporary.

The lnbs seem higher on the LNB Changer ?

it is the side arm originals on the pictures? + An added length?
I thought Laminas side arms were too long?

They are not originals. Threaded rod with a tube. No measurements yet as I am not finished adjusting the thing.

Hello changer owners , some progress ?
Ik love to see some pictures of youre final(?) set-ups .
@Feedsat_DXer did you manage to get more than 160º rotation ?
Must be restricted by the TBS card or soft , cause with a receiver it works fine .

For the CM 1.8m I use a Maxplus 2100 and for the FIBO 120 a OPENBOX F-500 (control it by hand with the front Up/DOWN buttons )
Made a diseqc-remote interface to automaticly control the changer .
The loop-trough of my Clarke-Tech 5000 (DrHD F16) is able to switch a GT-DS81 diseqc 1.1 switch .
Connected the 8 out-ports to small 12 v relays .
Checked out the button configuration of a Maxplus 2100 (second) remote and let those relays "push the button" .
The Maxplus is connected to the screen of a portable DVD player (small , and cheap on the second hand market)
Easy to make setting corrections .

Planning to make a declination control with a Diseqc rotor .
Want to use the changer coax , split it with a 2/1 switch nearby the dish , port A for lnb changer , port B for declination control , also with the Maxplus .

Yes, no problem with the TBS card 5925 now, I found how to fix it:
rotating each position manually , set and store it with EBS for example and no problem, since a couple of weeks, 3 KA (A B C/D, 2 Cband , 1 Xband and 1 KU are installed.

I just notice one little problem, the total net weight of everything is important; and sometimes, the elevation motor has some problems to move the antenna to the up position.

Later this year (maybe during summer holidays) I will installed the CM180 with the LNB chnager by the TBS6983 but I don't think there will be any problem or surprise.

Nice to read the 160º issue is solved .
About the elevation problem , cant you put a counterweight ?
I had in the past a simulair problem , thats why I want to make declination control instead of elevation .

I noticed the IR led of the diseqc-remote keeps blinking , thats no problem with switching but I think the remote battery wont last long .
Have to make a one-shot circuit for that .

It's a nice day Feedsat, would love to see some pics of what you have installed on the changer.
Re: Counter weight ..... i found it an essential thing to do to get an equal front / rear of dish weight balance.

Hello,
For me, very difficult to find to have a similar signal with the Lnb Changer with what I get with originals side-arm and the Laminas main arm, everything is still dismantled yet.

chuffed with my changer, it works perfect since getting it set right not had to touch anything.
ordered a tbs5925 so can use computer to set up, i know i will need to download some software, any one know which exactly?

It took me a week of fine tuning everything - I nearly gave up. But it's working good with signals on par with the original arms.

What is the length of your side-arms?
they are not the originals arms on the pictures.
