Yeah that would be interesting to see if you how far off the side of the dish you have to extend the 'wings' before you stop getting any more increase in gain. You'd probably have to 'do it by eye', keeping the shape of the dish f/d ratio etc. Or maybe use a bit of old skirting board and cut out...
Thanks all for the updates. I've added these in the attachement in this post. GSat 12 is scheduled for launch today, but I can add that at a later date.
Apologies for the delay, I have been 'out of the office' so to speak.
Last I heard regarding Intelsat New Dawn that there was some possible problem with the C-Band antenna not deployed. They were going to delay the Ku band antenna deployment until they were sure the C-Band antenna was deployed. Could be a nice bit of investigation if anyone picks up any C or Ku...
Analytical Graphics make an App similar to dishpointer called Augmented Reality _http://blogs.agi.com/agi/?p=2500
The App is here: _https://market.android.com/details?id=com.agi.android.augmentedreality (FREE!).
I haven't tried it , but I'm guessing it's going to be a similar accuracy to the...
First of all, credit to Robbo for the original idea in this thread: http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/dish-setup-guides-information-threads-faqs/117335-satellite-arc.html, but I've created an updated diagram of the satellite arc (using Visio). Its based on the geostationary satellites visible...

Nice one Jeremy. I must admit, I was keeing an eye on this thread, I work near Gloucester and I was tempted to come and help, and I was sure you might have got there yourself in the end after Satelliteman mentioned checking your motor inclination, which sounds like you very nearly did! I've set...

2CVBloke, I've just tried this recipe with pheasant (cock bird). Although I skinned my pheasant instead of plucking it, hence no skin, shoving a few garlic cloves inside the cavity and a good basting over the meat every 10 minutes, the garlic complements it very well, as well as the roast...
I knew anchovies add a something to the pie, what Raymond Blanc might say in French :'I don't know what', but now you mention Umami, I do remember Heston Blumenthal making Umami sauce from some exotic mushrroms. I sometimes put them into spag bol sauce, (not sure if it's exactly like mama used...

Did you try adjusting the Black Ultra 'in and out' of the LNB holder for maximum signal? I originally had Inverto 0.2 twin, but I found it had a small 'neck' there was only a cm or so of adjustment. Even without the LNB holder on the dish and moving the 0.2 twin around the focus by hand, I...
Cheers Guys, Sorry, should have made it clear, I'm talking C-Band. I appreciate there's not a lot of C-band users on the forum, but the principle should be the same. I'm quite well aware that any dish is unrelated to signal polarisation. I have a customer with reception problems below a certain...
