Huevos - As you asked originally for the dimensions of my dish, what do you deduce from the figures. Were they of any help ?

The FTE dish is steel, whereas the Gibertini is aluminium. The Gibertini is much easier on a motor, but if you are running fixed there's not going to be much difference between the two once they are set up. Personally I really like my Gibertini (165x155cm).
Thanks! Very helpful info. I'm not planning to run a motor so if there's not much difference in performance I might go for the FTE as it's a lot cheaper, or the Gibertini 1.25 if it turns out that's sufficient in terms of size (price is similar)

Why does this remind me of a reflector from a Fibo 1.2m dish?

Tuners are not too sensitive in those receivers. Also it doesn't prove the dish is correctly aligned
I agree re. the tuner, but I'm pretty happy with the dish alignment. Receiving Astra 2A North signals with 50+% SQ; 133 cm dishes just pick them up and no more.

How much was that dish?

@Buckshee, thanks for the report. Reason I asked about the size is we need common ground on how we measure the dishes otherwise when we share results it just leads to confusion. Looking at your results it looks like at least Almería and possibly Granada will get reception from 1.8m dishes.

I don't know, it's nothing like a Fibo (to me at least).

If you look at holes, the size, the back bracket and the overall shape, the reflector looks like the one from a Fibo (without the sub-reflector).

At what levels does the signal become unstable on those receivers?

Hi,
As promised, here's my report from 45km north east of Madrid:
11.023H. S: 91% Q: 65%. Audio and video stable for the moment. Pixelation threshold on receiver is around 60% so not much margin. Also measured dish and found it's actually 91x99cm.

Maybe, but it's not an exposed dish. When I took a look at it last Saturday it was right on the limit of reception on 11023H. I think it's just a case of dish not big enough. How much margin do you estimate you've got on the LH110?

Reception report: no signal this morning at 8. Looks like a bigger dish is required, as expected.

Madridman this morning is cloudy , either this is responsible for the loss of signal or its some form of " float " in the footprint. It would be interesting to get a morning report on a sunny morning to see which it was with that setup, not sure how practical that is.

OK, I'll check again tomorrow morning if it's sunny, or on Sunday
